My husband was on a business trip and I came along. We originally were in a Hampton Inn but saw the special where you stay Sunday night and get Monday night free, so we moved. This town is beautiful, we visited the Jonathan Edwards Winery, ate at 3 restaurants in town and totally enjoyed the area. The room we had was number 7. We had a king bed, with a fireplace, and the bathroom had a jacuzzi tub that we enjoyed. In the evening they have wine, cheese and crackers. The breakfast was continental with very good scones and breads. We absolutely loved the room and would go return.

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at the Inn at Stonington. The inn is located in a small little new england village located on a penninsula right next to the water. Beautiful views and very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and socialable. Inn was clean and had a roomy feeling. Had a nice time chatting with the other guest during the inn's complimentary wine and cheese. We've read earlier reviews about the inn's "subpar" complimentary continental breakfast, but what we experienced was actually pretty decent. They offered coffee, juice, yogurt, cereal/granola, slices of cranberry and pistachio bread (very tasty), toast and a shared copy of the Times. What we enjoyed best were the nice modern rooms, free wireless internet access and the fireplace in our room. We visited for a long weekend during the winter. During the day we walked stonington and visited nearby Mystic (seaport museam, mystic village, downtown, restaurants). At night we cozied up next to the fireplace and watched netflix and dvd's we brought with us on our laptop (room had a tv, but I don't believe I saw a dvd player. I figured I would bring my laptop for internet and dvd capability just in case). There are also a bunch of good restaurants within walking distance. Water Street Cafe and Noah's had good food. We also had a really good experience at Theresa's Culinary Creations (looks like a gelato shop, but is also a deli and bakery that has really good breads and custom sandwiches). When we visited Noah's for dinner on Saturday night, they had live Celtic music playing in the corner.

We really enjoyed our visit and will most likely be returning during the spring/summer. Best of all, the drive was only about 2-2.5 hours from NYC. A great place to get away somewhere quiet for a long weekend.

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are elegant, plush, very comfortable and very clean. The location is unique because there are 5 excellent restaurants within walking distance, and the area is very quaint. If you like to walk, this is an excellent choice of location. We enjoy this Inn very much and have been regular guests for many years. We particularly enjoy the gas fireplace, spa tub and the fabulous sunset views over the water.

This was the second time that my husband and I stayed at the Inn at Stonington. It was a perfect post-holiday getaway. The Inn is beautiful- very warm and inviting. It is small enough to be cozy, but large enough that you don't feel like you are staying in your aunt's guest bedroom. The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Our room was lovely- we enjoyed sitting next to the fireplace while watching the sunset over the water. There are even several excellent restaurants in walking distance! We definitely hope to stay at the Inn at Stonington again.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, in one of the rooms facing the harbor. The inn is beautifully decorated, very clean, and well-maintained. The nightly wine and cheese gathering was tons of fun. It gave us the opportunity to chat with the other travelers and innkeepers. The bed was very comfortable, and most rooms have a jacuzzi and fireplace. Breakfast is continental, consisting of cereals, scones, toast, muffins, and yummy homemade cakes. The town of Stonington is ADORABLE...quintessential New England charm. We had two delicious meals at Milagro and Water Street Cafe. The inn is a 10 minute drive to Mystic and about 15-20 minutes from the Jonathan Edwards Winery. We went for a tasting and tour at the winery and were so impressed by the friendly, knowledgeable staff and delicious wine. It was a great weekend and we will definitely return. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

My boyfriend (now fiancee) picked the Inn at Stonington based on reviews on Tripadvisor, and we couldn't have been happier, so I am here to return the favor!

We actually got engaged at the Inn, and in planning his proposal, he worked closely with the staff at the Inn and we both cannot say enough how wonderful they were. He had mailed them pictures of us in frames, and when we arrived, they had placed them around the room along with a beautiful arrangement of flowers. I was extremely surprised!

Then, we went downstairs for wine and cheese, and everyone that worked there was so friendly and welcoming. It was hands down the happiest day of my life. I can't thank them enough for all they did.

Now about the room, we had room number 7 which was absolutely beautiful. There's a balcony and you can look out at the water and watch the boats sail by. Also there is a fireplace and jacuzzi tub, and the bed is extremely comfortable! The Inn is very cozy and warm and is within walking distance of a little beach and some great restaurants.

To the fantastic staff at the Inn: Thank you so much! We will definitely stay there again in the future!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn for our wedding anniversary. We got married in Stonington so it is a special place for us. The inn made our weekend even more wonderful that we could have imagined. The room was cozy and comfortable, absolutely perfect for a relaxing weekend away. Throughout our weekend we were told that the inn was booked but we only came across other guests at the wine and cheese cocktail hour they host every night. The inn feels like you are staying at a family house, its comfortable and quiet and we will definitely be back!
