We travelled up I-95 a few exits to stay in a quaint little seaside burg at the edge of CT, Stonington.

We completely enjoyed the visit that was a quiet getaway at a beautiful inn with gracious hosts who made us feel completely welcome. Room (#19) was spacious and comfortable, with a water view and balcony that the weather prevented us from using to its fullest. To a person we were treated with great kindness and hospitality, and that made the visit most enjoyable. The evening wine and cheese offering in the main Inn was a nice prelude to a stroll down the street for an informal dinner at Noah's. If I made one recommendation, it would be to offer an early morning coffee service in the annex where our room was located. (Coffee was available in the main Inn early enough, just not as convenient as we both would have liked). Otherwise a perfect stay!

our room was wonderful (room 19) and we just loved the entire experience. Staff were so helpful re places to eat and where to visit. The wine and cheese event each evening allowed us to meet other people staying at the hotel and we have continued to kep in touch with people we met.thanks to all the staff.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Stonington Oct 11-14, 2008 for our first wedding anniversary.

This place is lovely! The staff is so nice and friendly and accommodating. Our room was so nice - our room had a wonderful gas fireplace and the bathroom was gorgeous. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is fabulous - the perfect blend of a unique bed & breakfast with all of the modern amenities. There is even a community computer upstairs to use!
The breakfast was very nice - it was great to wake up and have some nice food items right there and drink morning tea on the lovely patio overlooking the water!
Each evening they have wine and cheese - this was a great way to chat with other guests and the staff. Again, everyone is so friendly and gave suggestions on places to go to dinner, local sites, etc.

I highly recommend this place to anyone - it was a wonderful place to spend out anniversary, and I can't wait to go back!

Great B and B. We are a youngish couple staying for our anniversary. I was a little worried about the B&B atmosphere of hanging out with other travelers we didn't know (with flashbacks to childhood). Not the case at all. Beautiful, big rooms, with pretty nice view of the ocean (although with big parking lot in between). Concierge was very nice, and I had arranged for flowers, chocolate covered strawberries and wine from a special vineyard, all of which was done for us perfectly and without too much of a premium. We will be back every 5 years.

We had a wonderful but too short a stay at the Inn. Very friendly staff. Comp. wine and cheese on the deck with views of the harbor area. Extremely clean rooms, hallways and main sitting areas. The village is fun to walk through ; very quaint ,plus Foxwoods Casino and a wonderful Indian (Pequoit)Museum near by. Mystic Ct (Mystic Seaport) is also very close.

Beautifully constructed and decorated in colonial style, the Inn at Stonington is a modern building. The bedrooms are spacious and, as long as you choose an upstairs seaside room, are quiet at night. However, rooms on the first (ground) floor are subject to noise from the public areas, from outside and from guests in the room above. Breakfast is a help-yourself operation, with cereals, fruit, yoghurt and cakes/bread. There were boiled eggs some days. It all seemed as if it had been very carefully costed and might have been more generous, given the high prices charged for a room. Having said this, the inn met most of our requirements - clean, comfortable, good location and we enjoyed our stay. Reception staff were generally helpful and the other guests, most of whom stayed for only a night or two, were mainly well-heeled Americans. The area is wonderful and easily accessible by train from New York - get off at Mystic, five miles away, and hire a car to explore Connecticut and also Rhode Island with its lovely unspoilt beaches and air of a more old-fashioned America.

My husband, our 16 year old son and I spent two nights at the Inn at Stonington this past week. We had a wonderful break there. While our room in the annex did not have a direct sea view, once we saw it we couldn't have cared less. It was beautifully decorated. The bathroom was fabulous--huge, with a double jacuzzi, shower and lovely fixtures. The ocean is right there, so we had plenty of opportunity to gaze out to sea from the public rooms. Some people have complained about the breakfast, but we loved it. It's not an elaborate cooked breakfast, but who needs that when you are eating huge lunches and dinners on vacation? They had homemade baked goods, yummy granola, cereals, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs--all kinds of great stuff. My guys packed away huge amounts of healthy food. We ate on the deck looking at the sailboats gliding by. One of the funnest things was taking their bikes out for a ride around this beautiful little town. It's the best way to get a close look at the lovely architecture. The staff members were all very friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful place.
