I went to breakfast to this morning at Bulls Head. I ordered Eggs over easy, sausage and a Blueberry muffin. The Blueberry muffin had no blueberries in it. It tasted as though it had been made from Duncan Hines yellow cake mix. I'm pretty sure that it was made from some kind of packaged cake batter. Anyway, there is no excuse for not putting blueberries in a Blueberry muffin. The sausages were flavorless and dry. They had the consistency of sawdust, but I think sawdust has more flavor. The eggs were OK. The overall decor and appearance of the restaurant looks as though no one has bothered to put any money into the place since the early 80s. Overall, it was a pretty depressing experience.

“Large portions, slow service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

Parties of 4 or more are seated in an alcove to the left of the front door and forgotton. Dined here for a late Saturday lunch and a Tuesday breakfast. Same slow service both times. Food is always good and the homemade pastries are a tempting sight when you enter. Large menu, even the pickiest eaters can find something. Restroom was not well kept. Have to pay at the cashier which can get backed up in the small area.

“not what it used to be”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

Had breakfast with my wife and all that went well was that we were seated right away. The blintzes my wife ordered were small and cold, the fruit was obviously canned and frozen and the pineapple was inedible. My Greek omelet had no discernible feta cheese, We asked three times for more hot water for my wife's tea and it never came. Also the wall was filthy, The Greek omelet was supposed to come as a special with juice, they did not price it as such or give me the juice. Service was poor. This used to be Stamford's best diner, now I will never come back.

“Home style food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

It is a popular place for families and late night visitor. Since it is open for 24/7. They serve hefty portions of food, that actually tastes like being cooked at home. They offer delivery also. Try cannoli or baklava on dessert-it is delicious!

“You Can Always Find a Good Meal Here”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

The first thing you discover about this place is it's always crowded. But they quickly find you a table, promptly take your order -- from dozens of offerings -- and serve you a solid meal at a fair price. What's amazing is how good each thing is (how can they offer so much variety and cook it all well). And check out the crowd when you go. Movie stars, senators, etc. all eat here. Lots of parking and a convenient location.
