This attraction has so much packed into a few acres. There is a museum, which was originally the home of Henri Willis Bendel, of Bendel's Department Store fame. It has worthwhile exhibits. It is also rented out for birthday parties. There is a small petting zoo area, as well as my favorite animals, the river otters, whom you can watch for hours while they play and swim. There is an Observatory for astronomical events, there is a country store where you can buy ice cream in the summer, and there is a wonderful playground, with a dinosaur dig. Whether you want to stroll and just view nature, or interact with the animals, or watch kids play, this is easily a full day's visit for active people interested in the beauty of nature. You can get a yearly membership as well, that helps support the Nature Center and the family activites it offers.

SM&NC is the best place in all of Stamford. Great trails, a playground, a farm, a museum. Beautiful foliage in the fall, a gorgeous rushing brook in the spring, a snowy playground in the winter, and plenty of shady areas in the summer. We have been members for 5 years and plan to be for many more. A really, great, GREAT gem in the city!

I have been going here since I was a young boy and wanted to learn about both science and nature. The exhibits and trails do not disappoint. For those looking for a wonderful way to both exercise and enjoy nature, the trails are fabulous.

I always enjoy reading the information for the exhibits and learning more about the climate, wildlife, and environment in Connecticut.

Great farm with lots of animals. Interesting visiting exhibits in the museum. There are several hiking trails which are family friendly. Only complaint would be the cost. It was much better when admission was free for Stamford residents on Wednesdays.
