Great getaway spot to hike, walk your dog and enjoy clean trails right on the NY border with CT. Parking can be limited but I have always found a spot

Otters, swans, cows, pigs, chickens, alpaca, goats, turtles and a playground in the woods. The Nature Center is a must do when in Stamford. Just follow chippy a trail to find amazing slides and climbing structures for pre schoolers and up! Different events occurs during the month so check the website. There is planetarium for learning about the night sky. There are picnic tables and restrooms.

This is a great place for a day out with or without the kids. There are walking trails, a wheelchair accessible trail, a beautiful nature playground, an otter pond, a planetarium.observatory, a nature center that rescues animals (Animal Embassy), a nature center, and a small museum with changing exhibits.

The playground is really lovely, but it is in the sun, so it can get very hot mid-day and you'll need sunscreen.

There is a day care center onsite, as well as summer camps, afterschool programs, and adult/child classes. Animal Embassy also has its own classes and camps, including a Keeper in Training program for 6th-9th graders.

There are many wonderful events planned for families including family campouts, scavenger hunts, and stargazing.

The only thing I don't like is that many of the farm animals are not to touch which can be very frustrating for animal-crazy kids. However, many of the animals at Animal Embassy are touchable. Check the hours for Animal Embassy, because they do not always match up with the hours of the Nature Center.

Also, there is no food here, and not much nearby, but it is a great place for a picnic!

What a fun place to hang out for a couple hours - a farm, a museum, a large playground, and the woods to walk in. They are def family friendly and is easy to manage in a strolled or wheelchair. The staff is most courteous and knowledgeable.

Located just north of the Merritt Parkway, this 118 acre park offers a wealth of activities year round, from maple syrup making in the spring to sheep shearing in the fall. Check out their website to see what activities they have underway at any given time. They also offer a summer camp and numerous educations programs. It's a great place to take kids to teach them about the natural and agricultural sciences.
