I was visiting NYU with my high school senior and wanted to avoid driving into NYC as well as the expense of in-city hotels. This hotel is incredibly conveniently located, brand new, with beautiful furnishings and beddings and outstanding service, as well as free WIFI, Starbucks coffee AND thick comfortable robes!! Short walking distance to great restaurants, and a 5 minute walk to the train station for an easy train ride to Grand Central Station.

This hotel was intended for just an overnight stay while we look at houses in the Greenwich, CT area. LOVED this hotel. It used to be a YMCA, but they renovated it and remodeled it into the Hotel Zero Degrees Hotel. One you walk into the hotel, it is surprisingly very modern and tastefully decorated. My boyfriend and I even commented to each other that we would decorate our home because we loved the color scheme and the modern patterns throught the hotel. The area is VERY convenient to many restaurants, 2 movie theaters, a nice mall w/ other great restaurants and popular stores, a Target, a Burlington Coat Factory, and lots of other shopping. Couldn't ask for a more pleasant stay...a comfortable, modern, SPOTLESSLY CLEAN room, great location and a very nice staff. Breakfast is just ok...powdered eggs, smoked salmon, bagels, cereals, fruit, granola bars, juice and Starbucks coffee. But a toasted bagel, a piece of fruit, and a cup or 2 of hot coffee, and I'm happy. We booked another overnight stay this weekend!

We were there only one night, arriving around 4 pm and leaving at 10:30 the next morning. The room was very comfortable - a king-sized bed with a good mattress and good pillows. The bathroom was clean and well-equipped and the towels were large and absorbent. There was a single cup coffee maker which I didn't use. The only problem was that there were two paper cups, suitable for coffee, and that was it. No paper cups for water. Since the other amenities were fine and enough for two people, that seemed strange. Breakfast was only all right. The scrambled eggs were cold and dry, but that's almost a given when they're standing for a while. Bacon looked limp, but the sausages were good. Breads and danish were good. There was a choice of 3 juices and 2 cereals. Coffee was as I like it, rich and strong. There were a number of restaurants within a couple of blocks. It was very quiet inside, no noise from other rooms or from the hallway. In the morning, there was a Wall Street Journal outside the door.

Stayed for one night in April in this hotel. I used to live in Stamford before. I was surprised to find this hotel in place of the old downtown YMCA. Booked this hotel for a weekend stay via the internet. My friends in Stamford were not even aware of this hotel when I booked it. Its brand new. Loved my stay there. The staff was very friendly. Location is in the heart of downtown with nice restaurants all around. Parking is free. Wi fi internet is free. What more can you expect.
I will definitely come back here if i need to book a hotel in Stamford. Highly recommended.

This is a Boutique hotel in downtown Stamford. They don't do advertizing and realy on word of mouth.

The rooms are comfortable with a good bed.

Some of the pluses

They offer a complimentry breakfast with many choices
Free parking, most downtown hotels don't
Arrangement with the YMCA for use of the facilities, the properties are connected
2 blocks from restaurant area
Free Wi fi plus 2 complimentry terminals

Unlike many larger hotels they seem interested in your comments and suggestions

My wife and I discovered Zero Degrees through Priceline.com. We figured it would be a standard hotel and expected standard service. We were very pleasantly surprised. From the moment we stepped into the lobby, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Our 1-year-old was treated like visiting royalty. The room was very comfortable and clean. The free wi-fi was also very useful to me. No matter how small the need, the staff was very friendly and attentive. If you're staying in Stamford and want a high quality room in a modern hotel, this is your place.

This hotel is really starting to grow into its shell, the staff is accommodating and friendly and the rooms are pleasant and spacious. The location is wonderful if you plan on having dinner or enjoying the nightlife of Stamford while you in Town.
