I have been going to Cafe Silvium since they opened in 2001 with my husband, children, family, friends, whenever I can. I have NEVER been disappointed. The food is consistently wonderful every single time. I am an Italian-American, and this food is authentic, fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, everyone is finding this out for themselves and trying to get in to eat there has become difficult. It is not a big place, but that is why the food is so good, because they don't become overwhelmed. On a weekend, you could wait over an hour for a table, or more, however, in my opinion, it is worth it. They take reservations during the week, but on weekends, (they are closed on Sunday's), they will only take them for parties of 6 or more. The secret behind their success is that Nicola & Vincenzo are always present at the restaurant, they actually do the cooking. From the time you are seated, you are served fresh bread with a cannelli bean mixture (my personal favorite) There menu rarely changes and there are always specials posted. The stuffed Zucchini flowers have been showing up now since it's summer as an appetizer. Some of my favorites are the Osso Bucco, the Cavatelli & the Orecchiette della Massaia (which means tiny meatballs). The desserts are a plus as well, especially the chocolate cake with warm center, which is always important!! I'm looking forward to going this weekend. Buon Appetito!
