Description: Cava has established itself as a taste of luxury. An experience of Old world charm and romance, both in its decor and cuisine. Its upscale fine dining experience caters to those looking for an evening out, a special occasion, or private events. The cuisine is authentic Italian, using the finest ingredients. The menu alone exceeds any expectation. The daily additions to the menu, both appetizers and entrees are prepared daily by our executive chef based on the freshest market products. Cava expresses its zest in season, both during the holidays, and on our cocktail list. There's a charm with each season, that should be brought to the table. The luxurious decor reflects the old world charm, with modern nuances. The warm feeling of home, paired with a featured glass of wine is sure to put your mind at ease. Each room has a separate serenity encompassed by different fixtures. The "Fireplace room" and it's cozy, warm candle lit atmosphere will soothe you and your guests after a long day at the office, or for a romantic evening. The "sunroom", filled with light, white linen, and paired with the right company, makes for an impressive room for a private dining, or the right place to impress that someone special. The "sunroom" serves as a private banquet room for all occasions. When the sun sets, and the lights are low the "Main DIning Room" has a grand dining table for occasions with more intimate groups. Everyone can enjoy a cocktail,or glass of wine, at the granite top bar, surrounded by dark cherry wood. There is a more casual atmosphere in the back tavern, with high top tables for a "girls night out" or just a couple appetizers while watching "the game".In addition to the dining experience, the cuisine has upscale items with aged Angus certified steaks, fresh atlantic salmon, pasta dishes, lighter fare, and authentic flavors throughout. Cava strives to leave an impression. The dining experience is that of traditional Italian, perfect for a relaxing meal. Cava is well renowned for elegant private events. Private dining events range from wedding receptions, baby showers, bridal showers, business meetings, cocktail hours, birthdays, rehearsal dinners, holiday parties, and all business functions. Private rooms are available for any events.

Went here for lunch and it was great. The Tuscano was cooked perfectly, no rubber scallops on this dish. The only issue I had with this meal was it was with grilled vegetables, some how peas became a grilled vegetable. I tasted the Lobster Risotto and it was excellent.

This restaurant aspires to be a very fine dining establishment. It succeeds on many parts. There is an excellent wine list, that is appropriately priced. The menu is extensive. We had four different entree's, and all were very good. We also had two appetizers, also very good. The calamari was a non traditional presentation, with hot peppers. Our antipasto was very good. Menu items were scallops, clams, veal and seafood medley. All were adequately portioned, cooked correctly and presented.

Our waiter was very at tentative and helpful. He provided suggestions that were right on target.

The largest negative is the price. There are no medium priced items. Every item seemed to be $1 to $5.00 over other restaurants.

Other negatives - Some of the menu items come with "chef choice of starch". I believe that for these prices, the dinner should be given options.

We felt that the service was somewhat slow, certainly not rushed, as others have said.

All in all, we would go back again.

I am a repeater at this local white linen restaurant located in the heart of Connecticut minutes from Interstate 84 on State Highway 229. A diverse menu combined with an efficient and friendly wait staff make for an enjoyable dining experience. Stavros (the proprietor) and his wife are invariably on hand meeting and greeting patrons. The owners have strived to enhance your dining experience by furnishing their establishment with an eye-appealing and comfortable décor.
One word of caution, this place is so well thought of by the locals that reservations on weekends are a must and advised for most other evenings as well.

Now, I've been driving by this place for years and I thought I'd try it for lunch. They have a nice atmosphere - the interior being fine for a business lunch to take a girlfriend. The menu is good with all Italian dishes. I had the Pappardelle Bolognese. It was served hot, promptly and well made. The service itself was quick and unobtrusive. This is a good place to take your honey for supper too. It is medium priced but well worth it. The wine runs $30.00 to $40.00 a bottle. I don't know if that is good or bad because I don't drink.

Try it,
