This is really a great place to come and camp and get away from everything. Though small, its other visitors are always pleasant. you also do not feel so cramped by the camping sites.

“Love the place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

I stay with family and friends every year. The cap site is near the lake. There are trails and picnic areas to have a relaxing day. It is a great place for kids.

“Natural setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

One of CT's better state parks. Set in a quiet cove for swimming and fishing, a safe place for small children to wade. There's a small trail alongside of a brook that empties into Lake Zoar. The main Lake is very busy with boaters during the warmer months, water skiers and fishermen. A popular place for people to camp. A great place for ice fishing during the Winter months. Many varieties of fresh water fish, blugills, crappie, yellow perch, white perch, largemouth bass and more. Off the beaten path, well known by the locals.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

We have camped her many times and really like it. The location is beautiful...quiet but near the lake and plenty of hiking trails. Good size camping sites with clean bathrooms nearby. When camping closes down in the fall, we normally park at the entrance and take a nice long walk. It's such a beautiful spot.
