I stayed at the Heritage Hotel when I attended a wedding in Southbury. The facility is large, comprised of two buildings and housing an indoor and outdoor pool as well as a billards room, restaurant, and dining rooms. The rooms were spacious and a good value for the money. When heading to the Southbury area, the Heritage is definitely your best bet! Plus the breakfast buffet with bottomless mimosas is a steal at $25 pp!

I had a big birthday celebration at the Heritage, and booked all the suites for the three generations that were staying five days. In addition, Chris Allen blocked off ten rooms at a reduced rate for extended family and friends. The staff couldn't have done enough, from the catering department for dinner (for 30 people) to extra cots in the rooms for the grandchildren. The setting is in the lush, rolling hills west of Danbury, Conn., and features a golf course next door and small amusement park eight miles away. The facilities include an indoor and outdoor pool, fitness center, and spa (two separate buildings in addition to the hotel), so there was something for everyone. The hotel, although a little older, is built like a rustic lodge. The large ballroom features a two-story ceiling with wooden beams. There is a small game room for kids. I'd like to make it an annual event for our immediate family.

Room Tip: The only negative is the in-house restaurant (not the breakfast room). There were guests who waited...

Nice location, friendly staff and clean rooms. They are also pet friendly in one wing. The breakfast was good as well. As I now live and work in this area, our organization frequently uses this site/hotel for meetings and they are always spot on.

This was my stay at the Heritage Hotel and I stayed two nights. Check in was easy and friendly and I got the room I wanted and the gentlemen pointed out that they were able to accommodate this request. Some of the hallways I thought smelled a lot like dog. But was happy that my room did not. The bed was comfortable and the TV quite large and easily accessible to attach my iPad up to. The noise level was pretty good, although I couldn't figure out how to keep the fan on all the time.

I was disappointed that my friend who had a one night reservation arrived at the hotel at 10pm and was told that there wasn't a room available for her and she ended up having to stay at the Crowne Plaze. I can't believe a place would take a reservation and then not have a room.

I didn't eat breakfast there, but rather ate at Friendly's right across the street. My daughter stayed with me the second day and I couldn't see spending 3 times the amount for Brunch when she just wanted one pancake and water.

She did swim in the outside pool. But seemed like the life guard was more interested in talking to older patrons about football than watching the other kids in the pool.

The Room Cleaners were very good and accommodated a request I had.

Room Tip: I stayed on the 3rd floor and it was quiet

The pool staff is so rude, especially to families, we strongly advise you to stay somewhere else. We've been here twice now and would NEVER consider coming back. Even we'll-supervised kids are not welcome. Only stay here if you're over 65!

We are a family-friendly resort with many activities geared towards our youngest guests, including activities at the pool area, our game rooms that include a Wii and pool tables, and kid-friendly menus in our restaurant. Children, whether they are hotel guests, Health Club members, or visiting on a day pass, are all welcome. I am sorry you did not experience us at our best. One complaint: They closed the pools at 7:30. Seriously? It's still light out.
Everything else was good. The rooms were clean. Service people were friendly.

One more complaint though. What's with the minimum size of a review?

We have stayed here a couple of times in the past. The service is always really good. The grounds are serene and beautiful with beautiful landscaping. There are many amenities for for family's. Just being the two of us on this trip still felt quiet and relaxing even with all of the families.
The building itself inside and outside are somewhat outdated, but clean and comfortable. The rooms are updated, clean and very nice. The smallest bathrooms I've seen, tight with a small pocket door. The movies on TV on demand are pricey but many in theaters now.
They have a great morning buffet with beautifully done omelets and many choices of fruits, bacon etc. Very nice selection. All in all great place to stay.
