Jones Family Farms, nestled in the White Hills of Shelton, with its 19th century dairy barn and homestead farmhouse, impresses the visitor as a peaceful and relaxed living environment. The beautiful countryside with its orderly rows of Christmas trees, neat stonewalls, and well-maintained fields are the result of efforts by seven generations of Jones family farmers. The farmers of the 400-acre working farm invite families to visit and harvest seasonal crops. Presently under cultivation are 200 acres of Christmas trees, 15 acres of strawberries, 15 acres of blueberries, and 25 acres of pumpkins, gourds and squash. The Jones farmers harvest these crops from three different farm locations known as the Homestead Farm, the Valley Farm, and Pumpkinseed Hill. The farm also manages 50 acres of hay land and 50 acres of woodlots. Over five acres of grapes are in production for the farm's winery.

This is a wonderful place to buy a Christmas tree, plus strawberries, blueberries, and pumpkins.

The service is wonderful, and the workers help you pick out your tree, bail your tree, and strap it to your car. They also offer pinecones, garland, and wreaths during the holidays.

Jones is very kid friendly. They have cutouts to put your face and a place to write a letter to send to Santa.

They even have an open fireplace where you can warm up and enjoy coffee, cookies, and warm cider.

Long story short, Jones Family Farms in Shelton, Connecticut is great.

I have lived in Shelton for 46 years and this is the place to go for your Christmas tree, whether it be chopping or precut. In the fall there is pumpkin picking, and strawberry & blueberry picking in the summer. It holds many fond memories when my children were young picking and chopping down the Christmas Tree. They also have a winery and wine tasting for grownups.

but a trip to the Jones Family Farm the day after Thanksgiving to bring that long-anticipated TREE back to YOUR house is a happening! Plenty of friendly help to point you in the right direction where you might find the PERFECT Blue Spruce to star in your Xmas festivities!
You're loaned a small band saw . . and after you've severed your prize, roll it onto that tarp you brought so it won'y get dirty as you drag it down the hill. (HINT: never chose a tree that must be carried or dragged UPhill). Throw on a couple of the smaller grandchildren to ride along with the tree ...stops them from getting lost and it makes for a great photo op!! easy parking...beautiful giftshop...wine from their own grapes ...apple cider and cookies for sale and picnic benches for eating Bring your well-behaved dog on a lease, too! My one criticism is that on a blustery day in CT - at a venue that caters mostly families with KIDS - there is NO hot chocolate to be had; just the warm cider made on the farm. And I heard a LOT of youngsters whining for cocoa ...

I have lived in Shelton for over 30 years and trips to the Jones Family Farm happen regularly. Xmas tree shopping (or should I say "chopping") at Jones is a tradition. They do such a great job. Hundreds of acres of trees to trek through. Bring the kids!! And don't forget to schedule a trip during other times of the year for strawberries, blueberries and pumpkins. By the way, they also recently started a winery.

This is a wonderful family tree farm. Perfect to bring family and cut down your own tree. Me and my boyfriend went for last years tree and bought a pre cut. It was a perfect tree and the staff was willing to show us as many trees as needed to get the perfect one. Keep in mind the price of the trees are pricey
