Being locals, we always wondered about the quality of this establishment and decided to give it a chance this Saturday evening. We did not have reservations but the hostess was able to seat us at a table for two. The ambiance of the dining area was charming with exposed brick walls, artwork, and white table cloths. We were anticipating a pleasant evening. A waiter greeted us within a few minutes and presented the daily specials on a piece of paper. No prices listed on specials sheet. We ordered wine by the glass and proceeded to review the menus. I ordered a Pinot Noir @ $8/glass. Not a particularly fruity wine but drinkable. The potato leak soup was very good, nice consistency and flavorful. My wife ordered the seafood martini. A mix of shrimp, crab and lobster. She enjoyed the mix of seafood. For entrees we ordered the chicken saltimbocca and penne in vodka sauce with chicken. The chicken saltimbocca was good, nothing exceptional, just good. My penne with chicken in vodka sauce was a disappointment. The sauce was thin in consistency. The chicken must of been cooked the day before, sliced and added to the mix. It tasted day old and severely detracted from the enjoyment of the meal. When we presented what we felt about the stale chicken to our waiter, he replied it was the same chicken as that in the saltimbocca. He offered no apology and in fact seemed a bit arrogant. We left without desert or coffee and will not return.
Unfortunate that restaurant with such nice decor cannot provide freshly cooked food for the prices they charge.
