“Great Breakfast”
Reviewed June 16, 2014 via mobile

A quick drive to many amenities, 20min to the beach, Chili's in parking lot, bar in hotel...and to top it off, a great breakfast served in the morning. The are a few hotels on the same street, all are within two miles of each other(in case this location is booked)
I will stay here again.

Everything was excellent at this hotel. The staff was helpful delivering extra towels and then an extra blanket. The breakfast included made to order omelets (efficiently run), scrambled eggs, french toast, ham, diced potatoes, cooked oatmeal with various toppings, fresh fruit salad (not canned), cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate with one person making omelets and one taking care of restocking, clearing dishes, etc.; easily worth $10+ per person. The king studio room ($108/night) included a king size bed, a queen size sleeper sofa, and a kitchenette with almost full size refrigerator and real freezer, stove top (2 burners), microwave, sink and a small dishwasher. The cabinets were equipped with dishes, plates, glasses, silverware and utensils for cooking. It worked fine for two parents and two children and would have been comfortable for a number of days. Room was clean and efficiently laid out. There is a small indoor pool, whirlpool, exercise room, free wifi and even a billiard table with balls by request from the front desk. Overall, the entire experience was excellent and I would highly recommend Hyatt House Shelton.

This was a last minute getaway and it was great. The staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. We enjoyed the quiet and the room was excellent. There are two restaurants in the same complex. The breakfast was nice.

I stayed here a year ago for a "mommy break". It is a modern designed place with a cute bar and small pool. There's a continental breakfast served which had a nice selection. No real frills but I I find it to be a comfy place with nice staff. Pool table could use a upgrade or a makeover.

I have been trying out a few different hotel chains in different states. So far, I have yet to be disappointed by a Hyatt, and after this stay, I have been proven right. Friendly staff (we noticed one of the employees worked really late and had to be there early the next morning - she was still wonderful!), really comfortable rooms, rapid service, and a pretty decent bar. Its a great location, too. I will definitely be back!

On the surface this hotel is modern and comfortable with decent amenities. Staff friendly enough. Breakfast was better than most. However, if you have any issues with allergies this is not the place for you. Dogs, dogs, dogs, everywhere, even in the breakfast area...gross. For this reason we won't be back.

Stayed here for 2 night for a wedding. Our room was very clean and updated. We loved the big screen TV. Bathroom was nice, water pressure great, and somewhat spacious for a standard room. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I've ever been to in my travels--a wide variety. Hot coffee all day was nice. The lobby and buffet area and the seating area and small bar were all very nice looking. Overall a very nice and homey hotel. Just one problem--the walls were extremely thin. The night that we got in, after a very long day and a 3 hour drive, we really wanted to sleep since we had another long day ahead of us....but we were woken at 2:30 AM by what I'm guessing was another wedding party returning to their room. They were being very loud, but I could literally hear their entire conversation word for word---the walls in this hotel are thin. There are signs in the elevators about "quiet hours" at night---now I know why: because if you talk late at night, with the thin walls, all of your neighbors will hear. We called to the front desk and they told the noisy room to quiet down, but it took us an hour to fall back asleep. So, overall, a very nice hotel, but beware of noisy neighbors, because the walls don't block much sound.
