The White Hart is a fantastic place to get away for a long weekend. Great hiking all around this beautiful area of Connecticut. Lounge around the front porch or grab a drink or dinner in the wonderful pub.

Fine dining in a classic New England venue. Many porches and views of the lake. Choose from a cozy room for a few to use of the mega-tent for outdoor celebrations. Excellent service, great seafood, steaks and vegetarian selections. Easy parking!

Room Tip: This review is for the restaurant, but I would absolutely book a room if needed!

We spent 2 nights at The White Hart Inn this summer. Very charming, yet fresh decor and modern amenities makes this a great country inn escape. Stayed in main guest house-- no elevator so pack light, but folks to help with bags. Tesla charger was out back. Welcome was great. Fun activities that can be arranged by front desk such as renting bikes and hiking. We enjoyed visiting nearby schools and going to fun antique stores within a hour of the hotel. Loved sitting out on the porch. It feels like home, The pantry casual gourmet cafe has wonderful breakfast & lunch items. The Tavern is a fun cozy atmosphere-- best burgers ever! You can enjoy the coffee place down the street and walk to sweet stores. Liked the decor-- and thoughtfulness of having free ice tea & lemonade in our fridge. Wish I could live there!

Room Tip: It's a bit pricey but worth it-- one of the nicest inns in the area-- location is in high demand

Ideal location - minutes by foot from the cathedral and center of town. Small room, but adequate. Wide variety of food for breakfast. Nice garden for outside relaxation. Reception was approachable, friendly, and helpful. Hotel has character and ambience. But my room, which faces the road, was not very quiet due to traffic noise from the street and from the hall. Also, although it was still August summer, the power for the air conditioning was off.

Lovely rooms, excellent food and the perfect location to stay while exploring the northwest corner of CT - close to so many quaint small towns in CT, MA and NY. We've been going to The White Hart since 1994. It has changed hands many times and was even completely closed for a period of time, but we are so happy that it is open again and is just the way we always remembered it.
