Dinosaur State Park and Museum off exit 23 on I-91 is well worth the trip. The main deal here is a dinosaur track way which shows you and your kids that there were former residents to Connecticut many millions of years ago it the Triasic. This is a place to take your kids. Besides all the inside stuff, there are hiking trails and the kids can also make plaster casts from REAL dino tracks. Take your kids, they will love it.

This Dinosaur trail location is really suitable for older kids with interest in the extinct reptiles. It is very interesting to see where a large and varied group of dinosaur stomped over a piece of ancient ground - here in CT and not some far away exotic place.

There are artifacts on display and some life sized dino replicas, and even an outside nature trail. But the sole reason to visit is to see the foot prints.

This location is one of a kind, with a large slab of rock, that was once mud, that clearly shows footprints and paths taken. The "Rock" has had a building built around it, so you are indoors the whole time (except for the nature trail) You walk on a platform the circles around the rock and can see each footprint clearly. You do not get to touch or walk over this exhibit.

This location is not for everyone and certainly not for all families, It truly is only for those with interest in dino's. The paid portion of the exhibit can be completed in 20 minutes. If you dont enjoy dino facts, this will be to long for you. If you have a strong interest you can extend for a few more minutes, but you will still be finished within 45 minutes.

We came here on a Geology field trip with school, and were really impressed. The museum is incredible - informative on a scientific level. We were impressed that they didn't dumb the science down but made it accessible to a variety of levels. The science information they have is very comprehensive. The Jurassic arboretum is great, as are the hiking trails. Really cool to see the basalt dikes, which they also have plaques pointing and describing. Loved this place!!

Not a typo. My uncle was the driving the dozer that unearthed the first footprints at this sight and halted the construction of a major CT State Department building. This is NOT a large attraction. Probably a good hour to visit the inside of the museum. Very cool place to stop by with little kids. Might be a bit boring for teens, but it is quite a site to see hundreds of tracks scampering along this one spot... perfectly preserved for millions of years.
