My husband and I bought a voucher for two nights last April. The cottage was absolutely filthy, there was a sign saying the wood fire wasn't to be used, this was incorrect as we previously checked with the local authorities and open wood fires were permitted in April. The DVD player wasn't working working either!! On entering the bathroom I saw the shower was filled with dead worm like creatures, upon which we decided we could only possibly stay the one night and headed back to Perth the following day. Please don't put yourselves through it !!!

We got a voucher off groupon, I guess everyone else did the same, why else would you stay here. We got there late lucky we got there when we did as the cleaner was leaving and there was no onsite management to check us in. Once we spoke to her she was sure no one was checking in that day, they forgot to put in our details, so at 730 at night we were going to be sent away, week of a public holiday with everywhere being booked out. Luckily after debating for a while she let is have a room for the night.
We spoke to her the next day and she said the lady who books forgot about it and we can stay for the original two night but there might be additional fees. We were meant to get breakfast but never got it. On the upside the people in Manjimup were lovely. If you do go have lunch at The wine and truffle co, amazing. The wildlife was cool too. But other then that don't do it to yourself. Awful not worth a single dollar. Just awful where it could be something amazing.

Here's a copy of what I Emailed to Nyamup.
We have just left your "Nyamup Holiday Village" early after being booked in for 2 nights. We were shocked, having arrived yesterday the 3th January to find nobody at reception and then a most unwelcome woman next door. There was no greeting, no organisation whatsoever. We arrived at number 20 then. The outside is appalling, very dirty. We could see in the house before we opened the door sue to holes in the wall.
The bathroom floor has holes so big you can see the earth. The pillows were by far the most disgusting things. the stains on them were appalling. We brought our 2 year old daughter and her Grandfather. We were afraid to put her in the bed, it was so dirty. My father in law is covered in bites and his eye has swollen up from one.

We left after just 1 night, early this morning. When I tried to complain to that lady next to the reception she had no interest. I was apparently meant to talk to "Jo".

I will be taking this complaint further and also getting on to Groupon for my money back.

I took various photo's of the property as evidence.

We bought a voucher for two nights B&B in what was the Mill owner's cottage. It is a very pretty spot - but a long way from anywhere. Not a major issue - except that we were in the B&B.
The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was a plentiful continental one.
We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the surrounding country. Beautiful!
BUT:
There are three bedrooms in the cottage - and one bathroom with the loo in the bathroom. Just as well none of us had gastro! When we arrived - at the check-in time on the voucher - the managers were nowhere to be found and on the following afternoon at check-in time, they were shopping in Manjimup.
There was no communal BBQ area - so nowhere to cook an evening meal. The website had indicated that there were places to dine within 20km - but that must be as the crow flies. The nearest is a hotel (probably just under the 20km) - but it does not serve meals every night. The next is Manjimup - and it is more than 20km away. Theoretically, we were not supposed to even make ourselves a cuppa. We did anyway!
I had to get special dispensation to hang up some washing (we were on our 'Around Australia' trip.)
We knew about the poor TV, Mobile phone and Internet reception - so that wasn't an issue. That the DVD player didn't work was a bit of a shock. Hooray for books!
We mentioned our disappointment at the Visitors Centre in Manjimup and the volunteer on duty pretty much indicated that they do not 'send anyone out there'.
I guess we got what we paid for - but not what we were expecting. It certainly would not have been worth the 'full price' that was advertised on the voucher website or the Holiday village website.
In summary, the stay was disappointing rather than poor. What looked great on the voucher and website was very misleading because of information that was either not there or phrased to make it look better than it was.

After reading the reviews about Nyamup we too wondered what we had gotten ourselves into and were expecting the worst. With that in mind we were pleasantly surprised on arrival to find our cottage immaculately clean, beautifully maintained and with everything there that one would need to be comfortable. One of the attractions for us was that there was no phone or television reception, a fact we were made fully aware of at the time of booking. We were also told at the time of booking to take our own linen and drinking water so there were no surprises on arrival. There are plenty of walking trails, lots of birds and wildlife, and if you are looking to have a break away from the hustle and bustle of city life, then this is certainly the place to do that. We stayed 3 nights but next time we plan to stay longer. It's a bit of a drive into Manjimum, but if you stock up on your way in, you might never want to leave.

My first review was rejected by Tripadvisor. Lets see how this one goes. Firstly the village is an old milling village in the middle of know where (not neccesarily a bad thing... fair enough!!). These original houses are very old and decrepid. From what I understand they are all privatley owned. They are very basic. We bought a voucher to go there (first mistake). It did not say in this offer that no linen (what so ever) will be provided. No towels sheets toilet paper!!!! the kitchen is bare and basic. Luckily they provided a fridge. No TV reception, thats fine but at least tell me so I can bring a few DVD's. The firniture looks like it came off a verge collection. The bedding looks like Grandma's and the beds roll into the middle. There are no curtains on the windows and at 4:30am in it will wake you up. The tap water is not drickable. They provided a jerry can to transport wter inside for cooking drinking etc. No problem....... I can live with that. BUT!!!!! the bloody container they provided had green mould growing in it (a penecillan experiment???). They have notes stuck on the wall evrywhere!!!! clean the fireplace or we will charge you. Sweep and mop the floor or we will charge you!! Wipe the fridge out or will will charge you!!! Bring all your rubbish out when you leave and take it over to the main caretakers residence and place in the bin.....or we will charge you!!!! I'm not a dirty occupier but this is ridiculous!!! The only good thing was the seclution and the wildlife (birds and emu's). The Manager does not live on site and only respond via email, no phone calls. The caretakers (backpackers I think) couldn;t give too hoots. When you get there the office is ALWAYS locked, there is an envelope with your house key. How about a village mud map you [--] losers!!!!! I'm done!! at least I got my money back from GROUPON ha ha ha ha.

Some reviews about Nyamup made us wonder what we aere getting ourselves into but when we arrived we were so pleasantly surprised. We found the most gorgeous cottages with everything we could possibley need for our stay. No phone or television service meant we simply had to relax, which is exactly why we went. We were even lucky enough to see kangaroos and emus everyday. We had to take all our linen with us which was clearly instructed when booking. Both cottages we booked were clean, well kept and very comfortable, we will definitely be visiting again.
