It was the first time we ever heard about Tirthan Valley so we thought we would take a drive there, to Kudrat Homestay and see something new. Getting there was a nightmare because our driver was falling asleep on the way but somehow we managed to exchange drivers and get there safe and sound, all because of Sudhir!
When we reached there, we were greteed like it was home. We entered and Sudhir welcomed us to the homestay and he told us we were the only ones in the homestay for our stay period and that was the lucky shot!
We entered our room, it was comfortable compact and the view it has? It's just fantastic. Outside the window. Breath-taking views
The staff is great, the hospitality is very good and the staff go out of the way just to get you what you asked for at any point of time.
We stayed for 4 days and we had the best experience ever. This place is totally worth ever minute and penny!
P.S Bhavanas hands can prepare the most amazing food that you would've ever eaten. Food was great, no complaints!
And Kudrat, the main woman, is the most adorable person I ever met and she influenced me to write a song for her and it came out great!
Don't worry Sudhir, since you're reading this now, you should know, we haven't gotten enough of the place and we're gonna be back very soon :)
Take care bro.
Adios, Amigo. :)
You guys are doing great!
I'll be back to do a show with you guys once I get what I need ;)
What was to be another summer break - a touristy escape to hills, is now a beautiful memory of our travel to Tirthan and our stay at Kudrat - Bhavana & Sudhir's cosy nest in the mountains where they welcomed us like good old buddies.. complete with conversations over a warm cup of tea, freshly baked muffins, delicious home cooked meals and a bonefire that added to the charms of himalyan pine & cedar forest.
Thank you Bhavana & Sudhir for being the warm wonderful hosts you are. A biiig thumbs up for promoting all things local and green - be it in following traditional local construction practices, sourcing for supplies and even recommending activities like fishing, hiking with local guides and exploring the village and local food too.
While we are back to our routine, the heart n mind keep going back because 'dil maange more' of the conversations and fresh cool breeze, trying our luck fishing and another walk in the hills..Our kiddo is still talking about playing with your lil girl and his new canine friends.. and trekking ofcourse :)
We walked-in with busy minds ..lists of to-do's , the typical humdrum of city life and left in a zen state of mind..at peace.. the serene replaces chatter of the mind!!
Feeling relaxed, refreshed or even rejunuvated is an understatement of this experience.
A visit to Kudrat , more so to meet the wonderful lil family that runs it - Highly recommended for the travelling soul.
What a gem of a place! Beautiful location, great hosts and stupendous views of the river, mountains and snow capped peaks. We had a wonderful vacation with our two young children and it couldn’t have been a more pleasant stay. I highly highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet getaway to disconnect from the madness that is urban Indian living these days and recharge your batteries. The Chirping birds, the cool breeze, the friendly dogs and smell of the pine forests is just what the doctor ordered!
The property is beautiful, the rooms spacious and light and a guest's every little need has been thought of and catered for. We were in the suite room and the views were truly amazing.
The hosts were superlative- no request was too much! From curating experiences to cater to our family’s needs (fishing and picnicking by the river, small treks around the house, and short drive to see a beautiful village perched right up at the top of the mountain) to the lip-smacking and finger-lickingly good food- couldn’t have asked for more (cakes, cookies, pizza from scratch, yummy chicken Yakhni just to name a few, ensured no grams lost despite all the walking)!
We will surely be going back again next summer!
We were a group of 3 families who left delhi till the time we reached kudarat. It tuned out to be 4. Sudhir, bhawna and there little one kudarat being the 4th one. That was the kind of warmth and hospitality we guys received. Mountains, river and treks you have all at one place. The kind of passion with which sudhir and bhawna are running this place is unseen of. Every nook and corner of the place was just perfect. And what a cook bhawna is. Pancakes were irresistible.
Thanks sudhir for hosting us so well and making it a memorable one. Will definitely come again.
Kudrat in Kudrat it’s perfect matching words for nature loving people like me. Staying at Kudrat is worderfull experience of life bz.
1. Natural beauty around you
2. Rush free destinations to visit
3. Friendly hospitality by Sudhir & Bhawana
Advise to nature loving people to visit once
I visited Kudrat in Apr with my husband. I must admit that the teerthan valley is beautiful but very very far away, it took us almost 8 hrs from chandigarh by road. I wish it was near so that we could visit again and again.
One we reached Kudrat - it was like reaching a dream house. Every corner in the house is very tastefully done. For 2 days we were there- we just stayed put in the house- gazing at the snow capped peaks, eating great food and yaa we did little walk in the forest right behind the house. Great relaxing stay we had.
The 5☆ are for the owners and the staff at Kudrat.
Bhavna, mohan, puneet and sudhir...(i guess i am missing few) are what makes this house a joy to stay at. We have travelled enough in and around the himachal and uttarakhand belt and would say that this house has so much of love in every corner. We had the Attic suite on 2nd floor...so every time we had to climb stairs (that was an itch) but its was so beautifully done. Amazing skylights over the bed and library can mesmerise you.
My vodafone didn't work but they had Jio wifi- so life was sorted.
Few other things worth mentioning are;
1) picturesque Sharchi village is a 30 mins by car or 2 hrs by trek. must go.
2) river is again 20 mins away - sudhir helped us with some beers..loved it.
3) waterfall is a good trek..we walked for almost 2 hours from Kudrat to reach there...must go. avoid car ..if fit ..try walking from the house itself.
4) Ask sudhir (owner) for guides ..fishing / trekking / birding..it seems he knows everyone in the valley there.
5) The house has some amazing views of snow clad mountains and distant views of river tirthan.
6) paid 10K for the room found the price little steep...but i guess the, cosy interiors, warmth of staff and owners and home made fresh food justifies it very well.
Would visit again for sure !! Kudos for doing a great job.
