We stayed here as part of our arranged trip in Vietnam.
When we arrived, I got a bit of a scare when I opened the curtains in the room, because suddenly a gecko crawled from behind the curtain.
In total we had four of them in our room, but we got used to them. They stay on the walls and keep the mosquitoes away.
We went for dinner in the restaurant in the resort. It's a large hall, with only a few tables. When we arrived at 7.30 pm, everybody else had already finished there dinner. They started clearing the rest of the restaurant, dimmed the lights, until only the part where we were sitting was still illuminated. Still, for us, this was the only down side of our stay in Lak Resort.
It's a completely different experience from staying on the coastal areas. It's more rural, and off course, there are more mosquitoes.
We took an elephant ride and we enjoyed it very much. We also heard the stories about the hard life of the elephants, we're not that naive. But we also saw the band between the humans and the beasts.
Maybe we wouldn't go back to the resort unless they updated it a bit, but we definitely did enjoy our stay.
