In addition to incredibly fresh and well prepared seafood this is a great place to BYOB and relax with friends on the outdoor patio. Owner Bill Close is gracious and treats all like guests in his home. Indoor dining in the cooler months is available and the food is just as fresh and tasty!

If you like fresh fish and seafood with culinary flare, then this is the place for you. I had the Tilapia Piccata over pancetta, shallot & Brussel sprout hash, deep fried capers and lemon beurre sause. R U kidding! It was rich and delicious. Be sure to try Nick's calamari for an appetizer, he adds fried eggplant for a twist. Best of all, it's BYOB! Bill Close is a colorful host who makes u feel like an old friend. The place is a fish market with about 8 booths and 12 tables, but the ambiance is pleasant & friendly & the wait staff are very nice. So give this place a whirl, you'll return very soon. I know I will.

A local power outage (OK, 70% of the town was without power) led me to Close Harbor for lunch recently. The $10 lobster roll seemed like a good deal so both my wife and I ordered one. The roll was filled with large pieces of lobster meat from both the claw and the tail. The problem is that it was over cooked. Turned out to be tasteful but quite chewy. If a bite consisted of tail meat, you would get the entire piece whereas a normal bite would have allowed for three good mouthfuls. I hope this was a just a rare occurrence but I'll be careful next time I visit.

Close Harbour Seafood started ,and still is, a seafood market. The owner Billy Close has been a lobster wholesaler for decades. To this day he still has some of the largest indoor lobster tanks around and will proudly show you his fresh live inventory. Being a congenial retailer led him to put in a few tables to serve his bounty. This escalated to an outdoor patio, in season, where you can get some of the freshest lobster and seafood available. He has hired a chef which has added some unique diversity to the typical fried fish, clams and scallop dishes usually found with his competitors. The food is fesh, the atmosphere is lively and informal and the prices are reasonable. It has been a favorite of the locals for some time. It's bring your friends and BYOB liquor, beer and wine. Conveiniently , there is a package store next door. Bill is happy to provide the setups. Remember to buy enough wine to invite Bill to join you for a toast. By evenings end you'll be happily satisfied and you'll have made a new friend. During the Christmas holidays you have to call in your takeout orders. The place is mobbed.
