Driving across 95 in Connecticut, we saw the roadway sign for the PEZ Visitor Center, and decided, "Why not stop?!" We followed the signs to the center, and it did provide a nice place to stop and stretch our legs. The restrooms were clean, too! For $5, you enter the somewhat small, self-guided museum, but if you're planning on purchasing some PEZ (and who wouldn't?), you get a discount on your purchase with the voucher. They give you a PEZ lanyard as the visitor's pass that makes a cute souvenir, too. The displays were really professional and fun, but there wasn't a ton of stuff to see. There is a window into where they make the candy (candy is made in CT, dispensers are imported from overseas), but there wasn't much about the actual candy-making part. Mostly, just a showcase of old dispensers and the history of the company. Upstairs, there's a lounge area, but not much to see, so it's just a quick roadside trip. The giftshop wasn't even that large, but they did have a handful of exclusive dispensers that you can only get there. We did pick up a few PEZ packs that we are using as souvenir gifts (hey, for $2 and the story that we were at the factory, you can't beat it!) If you're not expecting too much and you're not in any time crunch, go ahead and pull off the exit for a fun place to see.

I love factory tours. I think PEZ are fun. This experience is disappointing and was not worth the drive.

You pay $5 to enter a gift shop which is connected to the factory, you can't enter the gift shop without paying the fee. You can peer through a few windows, and see some of the equipment. It is all self led, really no guidance at all. They have an amazing collection of PEZ dispensers throughout their history, some very cool and fascinating. There are no samples of product. You cannot buy exclusive or infrequently found items, such as the original peppermint breath mint which they only sell overseas. In all fairness, you get a credit which is worth about 1 PEZ dispenser.

There are many things that need improved to make this "factory tour" worthwhile.

Traveling down I-95, the highway can get really boring. This is a great stop on the way. We spent about an hour in the museum. My friends were so jealous that I have been to the PEZ factory. The attraction is quite nice and they have done a great job displaying all the PEZ heads. There is so much history with PEZ, and the attraction is put together nicely, plus you get credit at the store so you can buy your own new PEZ dispenser. Totally worth a stop. Everyone that worked there was very friendly. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

We stopped at the Pez Museum while traveling through the area. It is conveniently located off 95 and worth a stop if you have an hour or so. It might not even take that long. Our hotel had a coupon in their lobby display so it only costs us a few bucks. I am not sure I would have spent $8 to go in but at 50% off - $4.00 was an acceptable price.

The "museum" is small. There is the world's largest Pez dispenser, display after display of vintage Pez, some other Pez informational placards and displays, a TON of Pez items to purchase and a glass window wall to see into the factory to watch Pez being made. Other than that, there is not much else to it. I found it to be a fun way to spend an hour and learn about Pez. Plus I was able to buy some different kinds of fun Pez dispensers for gifts.
