“Tasty food in a nice atmosphere”
Reviewed January 23, 2012

Enjoyed a nice quiet meal at the bar last night for a low key 'date night'. My husband had a frisee salad (very large) and short ribs ("a small plate") which was adequate for him. I ordered the special - a flank steak with a upscale version of barbeque sauce on it, accompanied by a sweet potato tartin and a huge pile of greens (broccoli rabe & spinach?? not sure what it was but it was tasty and balanced out the meal nicely. They serve really nice french butter with good bread. Poured a giant glass of wine. Aspen has a good wine list and a bartender who does a lot of experimenting with new cocktails. If you like to try new drinks, it might be a place to check out. We ate for less than $75...including tip with just one glass of wine and no dessert.

we had a comical experience with our waitress/waiter/busser/manager. Too long to get into it. But our order couldn't have been more screwed up. LOUD

“Great place for upscale food in refined yet comfortable atmosphere”
Reviewed November 28, 2011

We eat here frequently - great local place with upscale interesting food and quiet surroundings. Nice for a couple or friends. Appetizer and entree portions nice size - we frequently share so that we can have room for the fries which are great. Staff very friendly. Nice for a place to get a drink as well. Good place for business or "ladies lunch".

“Nice night out”
Reviewed September 28, 2011

We had heard mixed reviews regarding Aspen, so were not sure about it. However we went last night with colleagues and had a great meal. It was a Tuesday, so the place was empty, but that made the service excellent.
We split a couple appetizers, the crab cakes and calamari were very good. I tried the scallops, and with the bread brought to our table, did not need to order an additional side dish. The scallops were perfect, not overcooked, large and flavorful. It was a light and refreshing dish, the cucumbers were different but I enjoyed it. It was a nice change from the traditional heavy garlicy creamy scallop dish loaded with butter that is often served at local restaurants. Creme brulee was a perfect end.
