After another blow by Sandy last year they have again remodeled this waterfront restaurant and have added a great outside patio!
Interior is large but the nice, horseshoe bar has been moved to the back of the banquet room. But enough about the décor which is a work in progress. The service was off to a slow start had to flag the waitress down. But then everything progressed nicely, Great fish and chips, lightly battered, moist, delicious fish, good fries.
Do stop at Steve Cryan's studio by the front entrance, he is back with his local paintings and more.
Hope there are no more hurricanes to spoil this beautiful spot on the Ct. River which has been there for years but even better now wish them luck!

One of the best outdoor dining experiences yet this summer. With seven in our party, we waited about an hour and fifteen minutes for a table on the new outdoor deck. Well worth the wait in the bright, friendly upstairs bar area. The weather that Saturday night was near perfect, as was our meal. Despite running out of a couple of our first choices, our alternate choices were very good. With a beautiful sunset, gorgeous weather and fireworks in the background, we could not have had a better experience. The only thing that was missing was George Benson serenading the crowd with his rendition of "Breezin" on such a beautiful night. We were also very honored and lucky to have "Aqua Allan" at our table that evening.

A sprawling casual venue. Limited but sufficient seafood based menu. Take the drive from Main Street Old Saybrook and you will come to Saybrook Point. Outdoor tables are worth the premium wait time, however there is lots of room inside with a decent bar that offers several decent beers on tap. The waitstaff is young but attentive, the food basic, and in reasonable quantity. Prices are at the higher end of the scale for the same offerings elsewhere, but not out of sight. The whole building is kind of a funky mix of assorted rooms connected together at various times due to expansion and storm damage over the years. Many folks think it is quaint and treasure going each summer.

Ten of us gals had dinner here recently. They don't take reservations but I arrived there before everyone and they were very accommodating about setting up two round tables together outside on the patio. It was a beautiful evening and the place was humming. Several gals had the lobster salad, a few clam chowders, and
fish and chips. 3 of us had the Cobb salad and it was very freshly prepared. Everyone enjoyed their meal...no complaints. Our waitress was very attentive and we weren't without our wine refills. We'll definitely return. BTW, D&D will be closing in October, tearing down the building and rebuilding 11 feet higher to help offset those hurricanes that so badly damaged it before. It's an institution, the owner has several other successful restaurants, and it's here to stay.
