We probably should have known better since the dining room was empty on a Friday night and everywhere else was packed. The hostess didn't bother getting up, told us to find a seat. Our server was uninterested. The crab cakes were good but then waited close to an hour for our meal. The vegetables were so saturated in butter we couldn't eat them. My steak was au poive but you couldn't taste pepper. My boyfriends steak was so greasy it soaked the plate and wasn't edible. Then the waiter ignored us most of the night and took about 10 min to bring change when we were the only people in the dining room. Terrible experience and won't go back.

After trying to get into 2 other popular shoreline places we decided to again try The Blue Crab, only one table in the empty bar with the piano player, John who was quite good, nice background music.
Both of us ordered Blue Cheese Burgers, one with fries, one with onion rings,A small pumpkin bread with butter came with our drinks, very warm and good. Burgers were cooked as ordered, very good onion rings! Blue cheese turned out to be bottled and I found and bit into a toothpick in mine 3/4 way through! not on top but inside, our waitress Teresa apologized, would remind the chef! No adjustment made, Wonder where the toothpick had been before? None on my husband's burger! Bartender,Chuck was attentive, chatty and personable, piano player,John was a nice perk. It was okay but with all the other good places for burgers on the shoreline, this is not on the top of the list.

On paying the bill the waiter asked did we want change and we said no, we continued to finish our drinks, another member of staff comes over to us and complains about the tip that we had left at the top of her voice in front of other customers in the restaurant, very rude and unnecessary. If she had discretely explained the percentage tip in this town we would have given extra, we being visitors were not aware of this. She ruined the night and our experience as we were very embarrassed and annoyed at the manner in which she spoke to us.

We went with expectations of having the options of eating crab legs, crawfish, soft shell crabs, lobster and an assortment of various fishes. It turns out it is just a regular restaurant with a handful of seafood dishes like crab cakes, fried calamari, fried shrimp, fried scallops. The place was a little run down with a very low ceiling but charming. They brought out homemade bread and it was delicious... better than the entrees we ordered. The dessert was very good as well. We ordered the banana and chocolate spring roll and it was very good. I figured if their homemade bread was delicious, the homemade desserts must be good too and it sure was!
