“Very attractive rooms, food good, service pleasant but bumpy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2012

Ate last week at the newly renovated Old Lyme Inn, which has reopening for dining. We sat in a spacious room, piano player in the next that could be dispensed with as it adds nothing. Waitress was good busboys uneven in their understanding of what was needed. Thought the prices were typical, food was pretty good but not memorable. Very New England inn, very New England well- heeled and well-behaved Saturday evening dinner crowd.

One diner had a scallop dish that needed another 2 or three on the plate to make it worthwhile. Calves' liver very tasty but not cooked as requested. It was a perfectly good place to entertain my guests, but not, from a culinary viewpoint, interesting enough to return. Perhaps it aims to please its local regulars rather than to aspire to more.

“No!! Stay back”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2012

Several us went to the Old Lyme Inn for cocktails and to perhaps try some of the menu selections. We noticed the man who appeared to be in charge blow his nose and not wash his hands then he continued to handle peoples eating utensils. When he arrived near us he had reeked of cigarette smoke. Not appetizing. We did not stay around much longer. Its a shame. This is off are list till further notice. “Million $ burger”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2012

My husband and I went to the newly restored Old Lyme Inn.The place was fantastic inside. The owners spent a huge amount of money to fix the place. However they lack the high end quality of food that should be equal to its interior. At best it is an over priced burger joint. We are so not impressed.Mary-Ann Niles
