I like shopping in the retail part, and they do birthday parties in the 'mine' which the younger kids seem to like. The outside activities are too expensive for hiking trails and a splash pad. Just not worth the cost!

“Don't purchase anything here”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

They carry some beautiful (overpriced) things here but their "policies" for promotions, coupons and returns is ridiculous. The that I spoke to was rude and uncooperative. I spent a significant amount of money there and could not use their promotion.
They have lost me as a customer for good.

Totally overpriced! But it your kid likes dinos you may have to visit once. No discounts for adults who accompany the kids.

“Dinaosaur Place is a Great Family Attraction Value!”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

We visited Dinosaur Place this summer and thought we got an amazing bang for our buck. We live in RI and wanted to spend the day at a non-amusement park attraction but also not have to drive into a city or spend hours in traffic or tons of money on gas.

Lucky for us, we chose to go to Dinosaur Place: We spent 7 hours (and would have more if we had come earlier) walking the nature trails, gawking at the huge dinosaurs, reading about them and learning about each one. There are a few trails to choose from so each time we went around, we explored different paths.

There are two really unique play-scape areas: One area has a fun Maze to work your way through (no worries as kids can see under the walls if they misplace mommy and daddy) and a really cool slide where you have to enter the dinos huge open mouth to enter the slide.

They other play-scape is hard to describe but in 'Monty's Playground' there are really unique slides, a huge climbing rope structure and really neat architectural climbing structures.

Another highlight for us was to completely change gears (and clothing - bring flip-flops or water shoes as they are required) and go to the Splashpad. I have visited many places where just the splashpad cost $10 or more per person.

In addition, I love that you can leave and reenter the same day and that you can bring in your food and drink - which really helps keep costs down however, items are available for purchase. There are plenty of picnic tables to eat at as well.

There are many options and attractions there and you can head over to the Nature's Art building if inclement weather occurs.

We value creating family memories, learning activities, and seeing something new or interesting and Dinosaur Place meets all of those criteria!

“Pricey, but kids loved it!”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

Lots to do, but premium price. We had a coupon from the internet, but it really didn't save as much as we thought. Its a bigger property than we thought, so we started by walking the outdoor trails. When they say life size dino's, they aren't kidding. And lots of them with little info boards to go with them, with enough interesting info to keep both kids and adults interested.
The splashzone is claimed to be the largest in New England. Not sure they have visited Six Flags recently, but it was a nice park to cool off in.
Whole family loved the maze. Not huge, but fun. There is an observation overlook, so we took turns and timed each other.
The indoor activities were fun. The Bone Zone is better for younger kids, maybe under 10, the panning for gold and mining for gems was alot of fun and you keep what you find.
You could also buy geodes that haven't been split yet. So we picked three and loved the outcome. Each is one of a kind, so it was nice to pick it, have them slice it in half and they hand it to you to discover the mystery inside! And the older gentleman running it, Roger, was awesome, very funny and entertaining.
Lots of neat items in the gift shop. Like I say, its expensive as they charge the same price from 2-49 years old. But if you have children 4-12ish, I highly recommend it!
