“Great Experience”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

Jack's Brick Oven Pizzeria is by far the standard that the multitude of Pizza houses in Norwich should strive for. On our visit one recent Friday night to Jack's , We arrived to find a packed parking lot full of cars and wondered if we would have to wait, but to our surprise we quickly found two seats in the tastefully decorated lounge and were immediately offered drinks and menus. Tanya, the hostess inquired if we would like to be seated at a table, assured us that it would be a short wait, and would be happy to add our name to the list if we so desired. We opted to stay in the lounge as entertainment going to be provided this evening, and from our vantage point could take in the efforts of Jacks very competent staff as they catered to their customers needs. I normally would not write a Pizzeria review but Jack's is an exception. This is clearly a more than a pizza house, A special of Scallops/ Shrimp over pasta appeared to be a winner as was a number of other pasta options that impressed the senses as they were served that evening. Jack's also offers a number of fresh salad choices, with or without Shrimp/chicken.
For us, house salads to start were very good and creamy garlic on the side was house made, and enough for two salads. We were looking for a Margherite with bacon cooked crispy on the brick and Jack's delivered, Sliced tomato, roasted garlic, mozzarella, and fresh basil cooked to order surpassed our expectations and was more than we could handle in one sitting. Although we hadn't planned to stay, we did in fact linger to enjoy the nights entertainment, we weren't rushed and could easily continue our conversation in a very comfortable atmosphere so we made a night of it and were not disappointed. Jack's will be our first choice for pizza, and we will definitely investigate the entree's that were selected by the steady stream of patron's that already seem to know the secret of Jack's success-

“Smells good on arrival”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

We went here the other night, as we were craving Italian. The minute you walk in the door, the smell of garlic and good Italian hits you, which is fabulous! The staff is very friendly, and the menu has a good variety. In this case, we ended up splitting a bottle of Chianti and both ended up getting the lasagna. That also come with a house salad, which wasn't bad, and some tasty bread. We also added a couple of garlic knots, because they are always fabulous. The lasagna was piping hot, each served in it's own bake dish, full of meat, cheese, and sauce, just as you would expect! I fully intended to only eat half and bring leftovers home, but I couldn't seem to stop myself from eating the whole thing, as it was very flavorful. It had a little different flavor to some lasagna I've had, but that was not a knock against it by any means. We both enjoyed our night out and will be going back. We have had other dishes there as well that were good and the pizza is quite good as well. It's a great option for Italian in the area.

“A lot of Italian soul food for a good price”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

We found this place on our recent visit to Norwich, and couldn't have been better pleased. The menu is extensive, the service caring and the portion size enormous. We started with calamari and a caprese salad, each of which could have been a meal in itself. We moved on to a special with seafood and penne in a basil cream sauce. fish and chips, and veal francese. All were delicious and more than the four of us could handle. The bill for 4, which included 2 huge appetizers, entrees, salad and garlic bread, along with 8 bottles of beer came to $136. My only complaint: too full to try the homemade cannoli! I hope that by the time we visit next time they add draft beer to their bar menu. A gem of a place!

“More than Pizza”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

We have eaten here several times, it's time we wrote about the great food and service. Recently the expanded restaurant added a lounge and there is live music on Friday and Saturday nights, We heard a duo play unplugged recently it made for a mellow evening.
They mix a great reasonably priced Martini and the wines are above average. Jack's is a Pizza Restaurant first, but don't miss the entrees, we have tried several all delicious, portions are ample.
The waitstaff are always smiling.Yes, we recommend it.

“Surprisingly Good”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

We have been looking to hit up all of the pizza places locally and stopped in recently for the first time.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pizza. The crust stayed crisp and firm, typically crust under the pizza goes soft by the time you get to your second slice. Not here.

The inside needs some updating, service was ok but the pizza was very good and prices are reasonable.
