Norwich Arts Center houses an art gallery on the bottom floor and a renovated theater on the third. It's a great place to go on the First Friday of the month~they have an art opening reception that the public is invited to~each month highlights a different artist, some belong to their own co-op others are from the community at large. We arrived in enough time to see the new art show and then went upstairs to hear the month's concert.
Lots of variety is offered, from Folk to Jazz, to Swing and much more. Because it is an Arts Center they have a goal to bring different art, music events to the community. The cost for most groups is $20.00 which is very reasonable but the fact that you are allowed to bring in your own snacks and drinks makes it a great deal. Wine, soda & desserts are also offered for sale. The seating is cabaret style so you can bring friends and have your own table. Or make some new friends! And there is usually enough space for dancing if you are so inclined. Really an opportunity for a lot of fun!
If you like Independent Films, you can catch a movie in the theater as well. On the second Saturday of each month a new movie is shown. The price is $7.00 a person. Bring a cushion for your seat, as it can get a little uncomfortable. They offer snacks, soda for sale.
