Just spent a glorious overnight er at the Inn at Norwich CT. Gorgeous historic inn, charming and elegant. great staff, great spa, beautiful room. tea and scones at 4, wine tasting at 5, mints on the pillow, and ,oh yes, a delicious lunch in the Kensington Room. So posh and so affordable. I highly recommend the Inn!

Room Tip: Ask for room 2. More like a suite and TWO bathrooms in the room. Quel luxury!

Well- no need to worry about the negative update comments-
Its done $14 million has transformed the inn with detailed flowered carpeting that reminded me of Tavern on the Green. Handsome fabrics used for drapes. Paint is crisp and neat > Our rooms were fabulous. Wonderful linens comfortable couches and chairs.
Staff is very interested in meeting requests. Young friendly woman at reception is knowledgeable and capable with our Groupon billing.
And the warm freshly bakes scones with clotted cream for 3:00 tea--wonderful Yes we played more bridge and went back for the wine and cheese at 5:00 it was served in large glass in the Palm Court overlooking flowered gardens. Don't miss the apiary- They got 45 pounds of honey from two hives LOL
Lunch in the kensington was delicious .Presentation and dressing spot on!Terrific salmon grilled for the salads.
Many ladies zipping by on their way to the spa in their white robes. We did think it was outrageously funny to see chatting ladies sitting at the bar drinking their wine.
My friends and I had a cosy getaway there and would Highly recommend! and would return.

Room Tip: Every room is sparkling clean as recently totally renovated This Historic Inn is great.

The Spa at Norwich Inn is my new "happy place". I can't say enough good things about the Spa. We came here the first time for a concert at Mohegan Sun where they were charging a fortune for a room the night of the concert. What a treat to stay at the Spa instead! It was a fraction of the price of a room at Mohegan and felt like a world away, even though it is less than a half mile down the road. A taxi only cost $7. It's a great way to spend the weekend combining fun and relaxation. The nightlife and restaurants, concerts at Mohegan are a great time and then to come back to the spa for a relaxing night and spa treatments really combines the best of both worlds. The actual spa is top-notch. Clean and updated with attention paid to every detail. Don't miss out on spending some time in the "Relaxation Room"! All the spa treatments I have had there were fantastic and professional. The restaurants are somewhat limited, but adequate and good. i have been there 3 times int he past year and I would definitely go back again and again.

Room Tip: Staying at the main building (the "Inn" rooms) is great, you can go straight to the spa in...

Going to this spa is far superior to going to a regular day spa. The amenities allow for a true spa setting. They offer exercise classes, a small gym, a relaxation quiet room, a salon, a boutique, a pool, a sun deck, a fire placed sitting area, a snack bar, many treatment rooms, and separate locker rooms for men and women with steam room, sauna and hot tub. All of the aforementioned is in the spa area which does not include the hotel, villas, golf or dining areas. The treatment menu is vast. The staff is very courteous. This is my favorite place in CT to get a massage.

Our stay at the Spa at Norwich Inn exceeded our expectations. We were warmly welcomed by the young lady that checked us into our room. When I asked if they had tooth brushes, she kindly told me she would have them sent up while we collected our luggage. On arriving to our room, a kind man was delivering the tooth brushes along with closing the drapes and explaining a bit about the hotel. He then proceeded to notice there were four of us and after asking if we would prefer feather pillows, hurried out to gather more towels, robes and toiletries to accommodate us. He thought of everything before we even had to. That was a very sincere gesture and it was obvious he enjoyed working at the Inn. We all had a great night sleep in our quiet room with comfortable beds. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this beautiful historic inn.

Room Tip: Be aware that gratuities "resort fees" are added to your bill for each night's stay. I...

Stayed two days/one night with a girlfriend using a TravelZoo certificate. The place is really nice--beautiful grounds, nice rooms and a great spa. But my bill had to be done three time to get it right, so be sure to double check yours. Note that the gratuity is automatically added! The specials that include lunch are the best deal--it's a really nice lunch! Also, when making a reservation, the people on the phone tend to be very businesslike--not warm and friendly at all, so that could be improved.

We reserved and stayed at two rooms at the Inn this past weekend. Both were seriously dated and in need of major updating. The front doors were rusting, the carpet ancient, the bed flannel blankets were old, scratchy and appeared to have not been changed for our arrival. The rooms had a strong mildew smell. The tub area was full of rusted spots and old, stained shower curtains. One of our rooms had a used, open bar of soap in the bathroom soap dish. The other had 6 cigarette butts lined up on the deck rail that our kids ceremoniously found! Although non-smoking was requested, one of the rooms smelled of cigarette smoke. The lobby/common area looked equally as old, dated and grimy. The Inn is in a great location and the main building and "villas" have lots of potential but until this place receives a major update that's all it is; Potential without the substance to back it up.
