On our way to Mystic we decided to check this place out after seeing it on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives on the Food Network. We were so impressed. The food was delicious, the ambiance was nice and the prices were fantastic. The service was great. It was very convenient to I-95 taking less than 10 mins to get there. Highly recommend it, the empanadas and arepas were delishes and the ceviche was so tasty.

Was visiting Norwalk for the boat show, and went to Valencia based on the tripadvisor reviews. We were so glad we did - the food was fantastic, everything so fresh and tasty! Portions were plentiful. Excellent cocktails as well. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes, and the recommended Mojito!

What a great little find! This restaurant was featured on DD&D last week, it's only a hour from home so we decided to give it a try! What a great place! The food was fantastic. We started with a mussel appetizer with chorizo in a cream broth, you could actually make a meal out of this, the pot was overflowing with mussels. I had the paella which was so good, shrimp, mussels, chicken, chorizo, squid with a creamy rice....very very good! My husband had the short ribs, he got three nice ribs, the meat just fell off the bones....he enjoyed his dinner also. We had no room for dessert & actually took a good portion of the paella home, which we enjoyed the next day, (it even tasted better the next day!) We will certainly be going back to Valencia!

On a Friday evening, after school has started and the kids are tired, and Mom has been doing "Mom things" all week, everyone needs a break. But burgers are boring, and we've all done tacos, etc., to death; so what is an alternative? Valencia Luncheria in Norwalk is the place.

First, get there early because by 6:00 p.m. the crowds appear. The bar scene is lively, the restaurant rapidly fills up, and the outdoor seating is already gone. The food is very, very good (Seared scallops with risotto, pulled pork, veal, and steak tacos, were our last meal) … appetizers are large, main courses larger (be sure to try the crispy chicken livers appetizer). Mexican beers, with the standard European (Heineken, Amstel) and American (Bud, Michelob) beers, are available; no Venezuelan, Brazilian, or other S.A. beers were there. The bartender makes a number of "specialty drinks;" "Kiera Knightly" was available on Friday.

Service was haphazard. When a server at the next table spilled a drink, they were quick to clean the mess on the table and replace the drink; they needed to be reminded to clean the floor.

Most importantly, this a "family oriented" restaurant. Almost every table had Mom, Dad, and the teen-aged kids; who knows where the kids were going later … that Dad was paying for dinner at V.L. was enough. And, it is a closed circle … it's more like "two degrees of separation," than six. Everyone knows each other, and they circle amongst the tables. It you don't know anyone when you go in, you certainly will by the time you leave.

A fun place, friendly and casual atmosphere, good food, and the price is good. Now, if they could only get some more parking …
