We had been to this winery once before about 5 or 6 years ago and decided to try it again. A lazy, hazy Monday afternoon brought few people and a nice tasting experience. Our server, Raeanne, was very knowledgeable about the wines and the business. She said she loved working there as they are a Team and everyone pitches in. She invited us to walk the grounds and view the artwork upstairs. Tasting a bit pricey, as we are used to Finger Lakes, NY prices but includes a fine logo glass. Would recommend a stop here to enjoy the wine, nice grounds and Raeanne's knowledge!

Jess, who poured our wine tasting this past SAturday afternoon was informative and friendly. A great ambiance as soon as you step foot onto the property. We bought a bottle of a this fantastic Pinto Gris and another MAlbec and spent the afternoon at the far stone wall enjoying the lays rays of a late summer afteroon.

Highly recommend this place for a relaxing escape if only for a few hours.

We recently went to this winery. The wines are from california and connecticut (not all local). We were the only people there at the time of the tasting and we felt that we were bothering the hostesses. There were no introductions and they were busy doing other things while we were tasting. It felt awkward being there. We were going to stay for the noon tour and decided not to due to this.

The wine was ok - although the wine we liked was not from Connecticut.

Great wine, knowledgable staff and beautiful grounds. Did the tasting followed by a picnic lunch right in the vineyard! Gorgeous!

JE Winery was our last stop of the day and one of the two best wineries we found in the Mystic area. The Zins were zee best. The winemaker acquires California red grapes and works some mighty magic on them. Connecticut grapes are handled well, too. Nice wines. We tasted one wine we wanted, the Syrah, but there wasn't a bottle to be had. Bummer. It's an interesting situation -- running out of wines! It'll be great when the new wines are out. I know. They can't just give away the wine at tastings, but I remember the days when tasting fees were minimal, if at all, and we have shelves of complimentary wine glasses. Not anymore--here or anywhere. It does cut down the number of bottles of wine we buy. This is a nice winery where you might want to stop and take a break and drink a glass of wine on the deck. It's about the pleasure of enjoying the winemaker's best effort.
