Sadly only stayed for one night but what a great boutique hotel.
Once inside, the level of decor is stunning, with the most wonderful art deco features within the host of lounges.

The rooms are outstanding with strategically placed night lights built into the suites lighting system and the biggest shower room I have ever used.
There is a small lap swimming pool and sunbathing area which kind of fits into the style of the hotel.

Although they don't really mention their restaurant, we decided to have a light dinner and it was perfect. Breakfast was laid up for us and they boasted that they served the best home made muesli we would ever taste - and you know what, they were right.

We will most definitely return to this wonderful hotel should we return to this area

We were here for 2 nights in January on a private tour along the Garden Route. Though not overly impressive from the outside - large metal gate and a quiet courtyard/parking area - once you get inside it is stunning. Beautiful Art Deco, think Agatha Christie and Poirot with glamour, and a huge bedroom suite with great bathroom and a small shady veranda. The pool was lovely as was the champagne lounge. The food was adequate but it makes no claim to be a great restaurant and there are decent eateries near by.

Classy accommodation with really stunning rooms and friendly and efficient staff. Small hotel but nothing is too much trouble. Quiet and relaxing and undoubtedly one of the best in PE. Definitely a reason to visit PE again. Close to Boardwalk and beaches are in walking distance. A Gem.

Room Tip: All are great but furnished differenly

My husband and I stayed here on our last night of our South Africa holiday. What a treat! Tho hotel is abolutely stunning. It is quite small with only a few suites total. The entire place, including the structure itself, is Art Deco at its best! Exqusitely decorated with authentic pieces and suprub art. It was pure "eye candy" everywhere we looked.
Our suite was enormous. It was actually FOUR rooms, plus a private patio area that was filled with beautiful trees and plants. We entered into a large foyer which contained a very large wet bar that was fully stocked with goodies. My favorite liquore is Drambui and there were THREE small bottles in the mini bar! Were they clairvoyant? There was also a beautiful desk with hookups to keep our electornic devices fully charged. This room had two "hidden" panels that opened into large storage areas where duffels and suitcases could be housed out of sigfht. The foyer opened onto the living room which had a large comfy sofa and other seating around a large coffee table. There were sliding glass doors out to the patio. The bedroom connected to the living room by two seaparte pocket doors and it was even bigger than the living room. There was a huge bed made up with beautiful linens, two bedside tables, a vanity/desk and two closets..There were sliding glass doors here as well that led to the patio. Between the closets were double doors leading to an enormous bathroom with a large tub, double sinks, and a large walk in shower. The water closet was a separate room with a toilet, bidet and small sink and it could be entered from the foyer to become a powder room if one wished. The bathroom was stocked with high end towles and other goodies. All the rooms were decorated with impeccable taste. Artwork, rugs, reading material, etc. We could have set up house here.
But as fabulous as the building was it was the attentive care we got from the staff that is so wonderful. Especially Danny! He seemed to be everywhere... taking care of everything. Thanks for being our host. All the staff was extremely warm and welcoming. We ate both our evening meal and breakfast at the hotel. The food was delicious and the service quite good.
I only have one criticism.... This name change makes it very hard to find on Trip Advisor. And it is confusing. I'm not certain how that issue will be resovled. I think it is making difficult to "get the word out" about this treasure. Good luck with solving that issue.
I only wish we could have stayed longer.....

Room Tip: I don't believe there is a bad one.

I stayed here with my husband for one night before heading off to Shamwari Game Reserve. For some reason it is now called Number 5 Boutique Art Hotel - no matter the name - it is stunning. Our suite was large and had every confort, including our own garden. The bathroon was well equipped and had a wonderful shower. I think we were the only guests that night, or, if we weren't, we did not see anyone else. We had the dining room to ourselves for our evening meal which was very good. Similarly breakfast was served only to us and was equally delicious with a dish including a wide selection of fresh fruits, cold meats and cheeses and croissant . This was before our enjoyable cooked breakfast. The staff were helpful and polite. The hotel is stunning and glimmers with art deco from the moment you step through the door. The lounges are like a step back in time and the art work throughout is fascinating and well presented. There is a pool in the garden where we enjoyed our breakfast coffee in glorious sunshine. It was a shame to only be staying one night. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Our room had its own garden which made a peaceful place to sit.
