“Excellent business stop over”

One of the best hotels in Port Elizabeth. An ideal place for overnight stop-over. Very good restaurant, serving a good dinner [I had a chunk of ostridge stake] on a deck with a view of the Port Elizabeth bay.

Stayed here for a night in May 2013 in between a Garden Route Tour and visiting Pumba game reserve. The room was typical Radisson so not too much to say there. Not a great fan of corporate hotels as I stay in them a lot through work and want something different for holidays however the service was excellent here and we enjoyed a fabulous meal as well.

We spent 6 nights at this property during the Spec Savers IronMan. the hotel is within walking distance to the Boardwalk and the festivities. It has a shopping mall within two minutes walk as well.
We were on the 18th floor in three different rooms, with absolutely spectacular views of the Indian Ocean and the park.
The personnel was as friendly as anyone we met in Pt. E, which deserves is moniker "the friendly city".
The amenities are good, the rooms spacious, well designed.
The breakfast buffet has plenty of selection, but you might tire of the restaurant's good but limited menu.
Try the Flotation Therapy at the Spa, a bath of ultrasalted body temperature water, in which you get to float and relax every single muscle in your body.
The elevators are excruciatingly slow and in all three rooms the drains tried to match that speed.

Room Tip: The Suite on the 18th floor 1808 has phenomenal views. because the elevators are so slow, you might...

Very poor service and cleanliness! No management supervision resulting in the breakdown in service levels. Our basin would not drain so goodness knows how it got cleaned! I removed the plug to find it black with dirt and plastic. The cupboard door to the fridge was all skew and hanging off its hinges. The shower is badly designed as it fills the bathroom with water. The bed was not made up properly the duvet cover simply pulled and the bed sheet not even straightened. The level of cleaning in the bathroom also leaves a lot to be desired. The lifts are inadequate for the size of the building. This is not the kind of experience I expect from a Radisson hotel having stayed in Radisson Hotels in Shanghai,Dhaka and Brussels. The view , if you have a room with a sea view at a higher level, is excellent but as for the rest!!!?

Arrived room was without electricity this took 3 hours to sort out. Was moved to 3 diff rooms. Then happy to find a room that almost met the requirment of the room I booked. It Seemed that not all was setup in the room as the other one I was greatfull to get into bead only to find that the bedding was dirty. I slept on the other single bed and contacted housekeeping to ask to refresh the linen.

When I returned from a long tough day I found the same dirty bedding on the bed.

Now waiting for about an hour to return to a room that I hope is clean!!! I have to sleep here for 3 more nights. Never again!!! I need to find another hotel in PE as I travel often. Not happy and the staff is so nice at front desk that I rather type this than take it out on them.

First of all, this hotel has not more in common with the other Radisson Hotels than the name. We spent there one night in April.

The double room we had was very disappointing. The telephone did not work. Thus, we also did not receive our wake up cool. We had only one towel in the room and no chair at all. The sink was blocked. The "gym" is the hotel was well equipped, but this did not mean that towels were available or there was any water in the corresponding fountains.
The "best" was the overall signs of "100% guest satisfaction guarantee". After we complained at the hotel basically nothing (except for the towels in our room) has been changed. Please do yourself and your co-travelers a favor and DO NOT GO THERE. This has nothing to do with holidays.

We stayed one night due to ongoing flight times. I was pleasantly surprised how nice the hotel was due to reading negative reports before our trip.
We had a room on the top floor with a stunning view down the beach. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless and very comfortable.
Due to the hotel location we ate in the restaurant and were very satified with the quality of the food & service. The menu is not big, but there was a reasonable choice and served by friendly staff. The prices of both food & drink were reasonable for a hotel of this class. The hotel has an outside bar/dining area, but it was windy the evening we stayed.
We used the hotel transport to the airport the next morning without any problems even though it was very early. We would certainly recommend the Radisson Blu.
The only downside to the hotel is it's location in respect of other restaurants

Room Tip: Request a high level room for the views
