“Problem after problem”

I had read they were in liquidation proceedings but the reviews indicated it was still running as normal until they found a buyer so I took a chance and booked a room for 8 days. Unfortunately there was no hot water until late afternoon on my 2nd day, the 3rd day the electricity went out and even their emergency generator did not come on so the stairwells were pitch black. The 4th day it was the hot water being out again. I would avoid this hotel like the plague. There are many nice hotels in Port Elizabeth so there is no reason to risk encountering the same problems they have had for the last 4 days. I will be leaving 4 days early and moving to another hotel in Port Elizabeth.

I did enjoy the food and people at the hotel. Everyone is very nice and the problems are not their fault. I believe it is because they do not have the maintenance money they need to maintain the hotel as even a 2 star property right now. I think they are just keeping it taped together as well as they can until they find their buyer.

Good location.
We only stayed one night and spent most of our time outside the hotel.
Breakfast was nice.
Everything about the hotel is pretty much what you would expect.
Nothing out of the ordinary...fine.

I was impressed with the Radisson Blue as an option for business travellers to
PE. The rooms are well laid out with space to work and plenty of plugs. Bathrooms are open plan with beautiful modern finishes and pleasant complimentary toiletries. Beds are comfortable with high thread count linen. Delicious coffee available in the foyer for early departures. Will definitely use again for PE visits. Service is 5 star from friendly team

Hotel being situated on the beach road it gives soothing and relaxing mood when you open the windows towards east. Rooms are very good. The restaurant does not have much choice of foods. Vegetarians have to suffer, as the choice was very few. Breakfast was good, as the selection of food items were many. The restaurant is little cramped.

Room Tip: Beach road side rooms very good

We ran a full-house workshop in their conference centre. Outstanding service and venue: attentive, innovative menu, state of the art AV. Rooms immaculate and modern with stunning views down the coastline.

A super modern hotel with a view of the pacific to die for. Awesome location almost in the outskirts of town but within walkable distance to most malls and the like.
The restaurants at the hotel look fancy but lack in quality, variety and understanding of international dishes (i.e. Pizza). They should just skip it.
Service, by US standards, lacks manners and tact. Sometimes it is so brutal that you cannot but stand in there in disbelief. Don't let yourself be rattled by it and just go with the flow or you will not enjoy your stay.

We stayed one night at Radisson Blu while in PE after driving the Garden Route on our Honeymoon in June.

We chose the Radisson due to its age (one of the newer hotels in PE).

The rooms however were starting to show their tiredness, and were very stock standard.

- The shower leaked profusely onto the bathroom floor and then didn't drain off properly so some water spilt onto the carpet..
- The flat screen TV, held up by a bracket in the wall was almost about to fall off and on a slight angle,
- The lighting in the room is quite harsh white light, which isn't very nice for relaxing before a long flight and the room we were in had a view into someones apartment next door!

We also had bad timing because there were workers banging and drilling outside our window from sunrise to sunset.

The hotel is also quite a distance from any cafes or restaurants, though the restaurant and pool area are very very nice so this wasn't a problem.

I have rated service as average because on 3 occasions when we needed to speak to reception, the man who answered was quite unhelpful (we had a few minor housekeeping requests which we seemed to get 'I dunno' kind of responses to) - for a 5 star hotel, this was a bit disappointing. .

A good clean hotel, but definitely expensive.
