“Very tired hotel and not value for money”
Reviewed June 21, 2010

We stayed here as it was in a nice suburb of Port Elizabeth but this was a hotel that looked like it had given up. Everything seemed tired from the staff to the rooms. It is always nice to look at a welcome pack when you first arrive at a place, but their welcome pack consisted of a few leaflets about the wider area shoved it. there was nothing about a laundary service, internet facilities, breakfast (basically all the info you need). The staff were not rude just not overly friendly and there seemed to be no apology for the lack of information provided. There seemed to be a communal room but as this was never shown to us, we felt we were just brushed aside in our room. The room itself wasnt the cleanest. It rained hard one night and the window started leaking. The sheets on the bed were also ripped. The breakfast was ok but generally i felt our presence there was almost a burden rather than us doing them a favour!

Out of 6 B & B's in South Africa that we stayed in, this one probably came bottom of the list. Don't get me wrong though. The othere were of such a VERY high standard that one had to take the wooden spoon.
The room was excellent and a bathroom which was truly amazing!
There was a nice little lounge and an honesty box used for the bar. Breakfast was "OK" again comparing with others. Carp parking was safe & secure and the Hotel is well situated for the beach and boardwalk.

After staying in some wonderful accomodation on the garden route we were dissappointed to arrive in Port Elizabeth and at the very dated Kings Tide Boutique. There was nothing boutique about this hotel - the rooms were shabby, the service was as well - we weren't even shown around the hotel when we arrived.

Breakfast was poor, we couldn't get access to wi-fi at first and requested an alarm call only to be greeted by a 10 minute wait and still couldn't get through to reception.

It says live like Royalty on the brochure, think they must mean Jim Royle ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jgu3wJb9_4E )

Not for me, nor for my partner - A shabby little establishment in a dated part of South Africa... Shame

We needed a one night stop in P.E. to meet up with friends. This hotel was perfect. Outside the industrial port area, Easy to locate, Near to a good beach in a quiet residental area yet not far from The Boardwalk (shops / resturants) The room was a good size with air con and a huge ensuite. Secure parking. Staff very polite yet friendly and even washed our car overnight. We can recommend here.
