Great food and wine, very friendly and helpful staff, and a beautiful setting, at the foot of the longest village green in Connecticut. You can sit and eat outside on the terrace in fine weather, otherwise there is plenty of space indoors. Franco, the owner, is knowledgeable and charming. Good value.

We've never had a bad meal here and we often go here for pretheater dinner. Don't forget to try one of the small pizzas they are as good as they get

Trivoli is somewhat of an oasis. The town of New Milford seems to have a lively mix of business, activity and scenic lakes and there's a wide range of eateries sprinkled along the highway areas. Trivoli looks the part from the exterior. If you're seeking a 'real' reastaurant experience (vs Starbucks, a diner etc) the exterior is inviting and traditional Italian. We dined there in the summer when the outdoor patio is enticing and the menu is prominently posted outside so you can make up your mind.
Inside, you can choose between a very casual pizza room and a more fancy dining room (white tablecloths).
It's the kind of place you have to stand for a few minutes until someone notices you for seating and the service is what you make of it. Not particularly friendly but willing to answer menu questions. You definitely don't get the feeling you can stick around too long after eating.
The food is great. We've now had a variety of chicken and seafood dishes and they all hit the mark right on. Fresh, well-prepared and not to heavy. The fare is all Italian and the prices are 'affordable.'
I would rate this place well for consistency...you won't be disappointed. I get the impression the chef has been there for years or else they have handed down no-fail recipes.
Now that we have a reason to frequent this area, we tried to find other restaurants just to mix thing sup a bit but Tivoli has become a place we feel comfortable returning to when we want to be assured of a reasonably priced good meal.
