A great spot to grab a coffee and some chow, enjoy the paper and eclectic conversation. Even a cigar on the deck overlooking the water on a nice day!

“Disorganized But Comfortable”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

A local friend brought us here for tea and dessert after we ate lunch elsewhere. We ordered what we wanted at the counter and went to sit down after we got what we wanted. Staff behind the counter seemed a little disorganized. Each person didn’t seem to know what the others were doing. One lady took our order and went off somewhere without filling it, while we stood there waiting. Another one finally took our order and filled it, after which the person who originally took our order re-appeared, ready to start filling it. This resulted in further confusion behind the counter.

The muffins were wonderful. The berry muffin was filled with several kinds of berries and was very tasty. I should have passed on the pumpkin pie. It was almost flavorless and the crust was heavy.

I loved the atmosphere. We went to a room that had the feel of a living room, which I imagine it probably was at one time. There were groupings of chairs and tables around the room, with books scattered around. We sat at an arrangement of couch and chairs in front of the fireplace. It was a wonderful, comfortable environment for conversation. There was also a deck in the back overlooking the river. As we were leaving, someone began playing the piano, adding even more to the unique atmosphere.

I’d certainly go back again for the atmosphere, hoping that the staff would have it together better next time, and being a little more discerning with regard to what I was ordering.

“Stop in for a cup and a rest”

A flash back in time. Quite a nice cafe - comfortable, friendly, a good cup of coffee and lots of baked items for snacking.

Lovely, quaint downtown New London eatery owned by the children of 2 fabulous different New London icons. All homemade food, lots of sweets, and good healthy choices. Back deck to sit and enjoy during nice weather

“A great place to have breakfast/brunch/lunch”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

This is a great place to walk in and grab a quick breakfast or to hang around, relax and enjoy your coffee, companion, the paper and breakfast. I sat so long I overheard a group at the next table who were eating lunch and having a meeting. This is a treasure. WE live in Tampa and i wish we had a place like this here. By the way the name refers to the great Blues Musician and instrumentalists are always welcome to come in and jam.
