If you crave seafood there is nothing like Captain Scott,s to quench your desire. The seafood is fresh. They always present what you should expect from a family run business big portions and a fun place for everyone else's family. We had the pleasure of purchasing fresh fish to take home and prepare as well as dining on site and enjoying the summer breezes at the outside picnic tables.Every once in awhile they have live entertainment. Free! Its a BYOB place. They provide the food and atmosphere. They close October 20TH for this season. The queue will be waiting for the last of the menu treats.Catch'em again next spring if you can't make it there this weekend. You won't be disappointed. James

The Lobster Dock has incredible seafood at enormously good values. We had lobster rolls, onion rings, lobster bisque all for under $30 for two with soft drinks. Its basically a take out where you wait on one line to place your order and then on another to collect it. Service was fast in spite of a large weekend line - so don't be put off by a crowd. The ambience is basically picnic table outdoor eating - which was great when weather good, but could be dreadful if not (take the food home then!). Dock is actually next to a Railroad Track on one side and a canal inlet on the other so don't expect spectacular views. But, of course, one should go there for the excellent seafood at attractive prices and if you keep that in mind you will not be disappointed.

Whenever my husband and I are in New London in season we eat lunch here. We usually end up ordering fried oysters, lobster rolls, lobster bisque and sarsaparilla. We have never been disappointed in either the quality or the quantity of the servings. It is an open air venue with picnic tables, some of which have an unattached roof providing shade. The wait for your food depends on the weather, time of day, and day It is sandwiched between a marina and railroad tracks which makes it interesting but not exactly appealing.

I come here every time I visit Conneticut. I don't care if the lines around the building or not, I'll wait until it's my turn to order. Everything on the menu is wonderful and tasty. Just pack the family into the car and come as you are. This is a family's ran joint where you sit outside along the water and guls. FYI, bring a bottle of wine to enhances your dining experience.

If I can make a suggestion, I wish the lobster bisque was creamer and not so milky.

Bon Appetit

Captain Scott's has very selection of fried seafood. The whole belly clams are my favorite. The serving sizes are very good and may be considered large.. I drive 60 miles one way just to have them here. The outside dining by the marina on picnic tables was nice and made eating seafood all the better. There is covered seating also if the weather is not so good. A sign states they will be closing for the season on Oct 20th.
