“Good Food”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

Great find in downtown New Haven right around lunch time so not too busy or noisy .The food came out not too long or short. The staff very friendly and made no mistakes. I recommend this if you want no pizza in New Haven one night or day.

Reviewed June 24, 2013

We went to New Haven to see the Yale University facilities and its buildings which architecture is fenomenal. It's worth seen it. The we walk to Temple street to Temple Grill to have some drinks and food. The Tuna Cappriccio was excellent as were the Tempura Shrimps. The artichoke dip is and excellent choice for apperitive as were the wings.

“A gem in downtown New Haven”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

Temple Grill offers a distinct menu especially the make your own salad ticket. My personal favorite entree is the grilled meatloaf with mashed potatoes. I order the half portion which is more than enough. This gem is worth seeking out especially if one is going to The Schubert. A fine wine list along with a great selection of beer. Check it out

“Good food but too noisy”
Reviewed March 11, 2013 via mobile

I went to Temple Grill with a colleague for lunch. The atmosphere is very comfy but the restaurant is small and too loud for a business lunch. The wifi reception was poor. The food was very good. The lobster bisque was delicious but only warm--I had to eat quick! My guest got the cubano sandwich and was very pleased. My chicken two ways appetizer was very good, but the blue cheese dipping sauce was lackluster(I'm from Buffalo...give me great, thick, chunky blue cheese!).

“Okay just...okay”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

There are so many great restaurants in New Haven and this isn't one of them. If you're staying at the Omni and need a very quick lunch, this is a good option. There's a Make-Your-Own Salad concept on the menu and although the menu in general is kind of uninspired, I've never had a bad meal here. Just average ones. It is nothing special at all, but there is outdoor seating, the food is passable and the service is reasonable good. IF you need a meal in a hurry and you're staying at the Omni, this is a good option. If you want to step up your game, so to speak, and it is Happy Hour time and you want a drink and a bite rather than a quick lunch, check out Barcelona, which opens later in the day. It's a trendy tapas place with a good wine selection and reasonably good food. (I'm very critical in the food department, so please bear this in mind. "Reasonably good" means "very good.") Barcelona can become busy and develops a bar scene pretty quickly but if it is around 5 and you want something more, consider it. It is right next door to the Omni. Temple is across the street.

In short, if you want convenient and aren't bit on the gourmet-snob side, Temple is a good lunch option, especially if the weather is pleasant.
