“Delicious!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

My husband and I dined here on a Sunday afternoon and both ordered from the prix fixe brunch menu. All of the food (and of course the sangria!) was delicious, perfectly cooked, and simply but beautifully presented. The service was outstanding too. We will definitely be returning in the future for dinner.

“Still a winner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Pacifico has become our default spot for sitting at the bar during happy hour and having a couple of tapas and wine or margueritas on our trips to New Haven. And the margueritas are definitely not from a mix! Fastastic. Other offerings we suggest: quacamole, sweet plaintains, and the beet salad with chevre and microgreens.

One night on this trip, Jorge the bartende suggested the quesadillas con pato. Jorge insisted he had told the cook to substitute for the duck so that hubby would try them, as the latter is convinced he doesn't like duck. The "substitution" must have worked, because even hubby said they were very good! About the only tapas offering we haven't rated top-knotch has been the fish tacos, as they were a bit too "fishy ", though that admittedly may have been a one-time thing.

Our only suggestion: If you plan to go for happy hour on Friday or Saturday, we aware that the bar will be VERY busy, standing room only. But the people and noise level decrease a bit after happy hour ends at 6:30. And yes, we have eaten in the restaurant as well. It's equally good. But we really enjoy the bar and the conversations with bartenders and other folks sitting there.

“Disappointed with Pacifico”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

We had high expectations for Pacific but were very disappointed. The entrees were below par. Fish Tacos were served on soggy soft shells that fell apart. Very little duck in the quesadillas, crab cakes were average. I have had better food at a Ruby Tuesdays for 1/4 the price.

We visited Pacifico's sisters sister restaurant Tapas in Bethlehem which is terrific so we had high expectations, but all four diners were totally underwhelmed with our meals.

“Great Food”

I'm not typically into candle light dinners with co-workers, but this place is really decent lots of spice. Great drinks and wonderful deserts. Service is top notch. Little high on the price.

“Excellent food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

On a recent trip to New Haven we walked by this restaurant and decided to give it a try. The menu is somewhat Latin with some interesting choices. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my wife had the Mediterranean Sea Bass. Both were cooked perfectly. The wine menu is fairly extensive and relatively reasonable in price. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes excellent food.
