There are so many good things to eat in here that you should plan to BOTH eat in AND take out! The specialty sandwiches on fantastic bread are delicious, the array of salads impressive, and the tasty sweet baked goods mouthwatering.

Catering, gifts, and the like are also on offer here. What a cute decor and vibe on top of the beautiful hand-crafted foodie items. Enjoy!

This place is a hidden gem in New Haven. Everyone loves The Pantry, but right next door is this cozy, somewhat quirky caterer/cafe that is excellent for lunch. Truly gourmet food - the soups are always fresh and delicious. Sandwiches are made with their own freshly made bread and there are lots of vegetarian pre-made options as well.

I used to meet several of my old professors. (They've died in the last few years.) My wife's a regular with 2 or 3 of her friends. Easy. Tasty. Great staff.

I have used Chestnut to cater many parties, and their creations are always a hit. Their menu is varied, preparation is good, and they are reliable and accurate.

This is a yummy option on State Street - it's away from the hustle and bustle of downtown (which means easier parking). This place has a shared public lot behind it, plus street parking.

It's not a cheap eat, but it's pricey ($10) sandwiches and homemade options (pork and apples, salads, etc) are tasty. it's got a homey, old-fashioned atmosphere, and it's relatively small. Overall - worth a peek and an okay lunchtime spot.
