My wife and I have always been pizza lovers. I first tried Modern Pizza 30 years ago after a friend recommended them. I got the pizza to go on my way home from work. When my wife tasted the first slice (regular mozzarella and tomato) she exclaimed "where did you get this pizza from?" She was an instant fan of Modern. After that we went to Modern at least twice a month for many years until my job took me away from the area. Last week we visited Modern pizza again. My wife's favorite was anchovy pizza. I preferred the standard tomato and cheese. I think the test of the best pizza is made by first trying the standard tomato and cheese. If this is good then other selections will also be good. The crust on Modern pizza is thin and well done with a tasty crunch. The tomato sauce is tangy, the cheese not too thick and the oil sweet. All the ingredients blend together to give a fantastic gourmet flavor. The clam pizza is definitely worth a try. The sausage pizza is great. Although I love Pepe's pizza, they are not always consistent. Sometimes Pepe's is good and other times not. Modern's pizza is always consistently excellent. Modern restaurant also has an authentic pizza parlor atmosphere which hasn't changed in all these year. The waiters/waitresses all seem to be young students attending local colleges. We feel at home at Modern and will return whenever we can to enjoy the best pizza in the world.
