“Good New Haven Pizza...but not the best!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2012

Frank Pepe pizza is legend in the New Haven area and now all of Connecticut thanks to additional locations. But the pizza is inconsistent and not always high quality.

“PePe Pizza Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2012

They have this one pie that you can only get in the summer..its called "The Summer pis" and fades to darness in Sept...that's because they grow there own tomatoes for the pie..fresh chunks of plum tomatoes, & Garlic and cheese ( can also be ordered with no cheese) DELICIOUS..we usually go to the one in Fairfield..about 30 min drive for us..we pass around 8-10 other pizza location along the way....just goes to show you what people will do for the best!

“The Best Pizza on Earth”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2012

The lines say it all : Pepe's is the mostly insanely delicious pizza ever. Expect nothing in the way of service or atmosphere - and I mean that in every sense. We've been out of New Haven for 15 years now, but any time we pass through we put in a call for a pie to go or search for a space to park on Wooster St.

The Spot next door is the very same pizza so often we head there too for some amazing za when the lines are too long at Pepe's.

“Not like the old days”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

Pepe's has gone way down hill since they started to expand to the casino and different towns.I was in the Fairfield Pepes and saw 2 different tables of people get up and leave after receiving thier pizzas.Pepes used to be the bomb back in the day and I would gladly given them a 5 star but not anymore.Modern Pizza over on State St blows them away hands down

“Not the Pizza type I like.... but worth a try”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

The Pizza and the place is spectacular... there's always a queue outside waiting to get in. I don't mean they are poor but the pizza type is just not the kind I love... too thin and too oily, not the crusty thin style I look for. I should have try the red sauce if I happen to go there again. You may like it though, and still worth to try it out!
