“Clean, Contemporary, Relaxing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2011

We stayed at The Study while visiting the University. It is right across the street from the arts building, a very short walk to most of the main parts of campus, and near some interesting dining choices. Their contemporary look is true to form. The desk space in each room is the length of the window wall, like you might find in some college rooms (surprise, surprise!). The sleeping area is acceptable, the bath quite small, but sufficient. It's a clean and well-maintained property, just not large. Great for short stays, but you'd likely need a suite for longer stays (more than 2-3 days). We enjoyed room service, which was prompt, with good quality food for breakfast and dinner. Overall, there was little to report negative. Nothing that will excite you, but a good business-type hotel. We might add that the staff was very professional and accommodating, especially the "lead" front desk staff.

I've been staying at crummy New Haven hotels, even bigger named-places, for almost a decade. Finally a standout... which I almost hesitate to share for fear it will be harder to snag a room :)

Great food at the in-house restaurant, though they failed to alert me about the fries cooked in peanut oil after I told them about an allergy, so points off. Also, they didn't seem to have a ramp to the entrance, which is weird for a hotel. Mac computer with free Internet in the lobby. Service was attentive; they had noted my room requests and weren't about to put me in a room that didn't meet them.

This place just feels cool, warm, modern, and boutique all at the same time. The rooms are opened with presumably RFID chips rather than keys, which is awesome. There appears to be a real effort to be eco-friendly without being preachy about it, and everything about the room was comfortable, if not a little too streamlined. Seemed clean, though everything is on the small side. Bed is super comfy. iPod dock on bedstand. Nice big windows; quieter facing the alley, I'm assuming, though there was noise from the loading dock early in the morning.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and I will be returning.

The Study at Yale is a great hotel. While the rooms are relatively small, I thought the function and design was outstanding. The bed was very comfortable, and we loved the large plate glass window with a large work space. Employees were both helpful and friendly. The location was excellent with easy access to Yale and the surrounding shopping/dining district. I had a meeting at the Omni, and chose to stay here after comparing reviews. It was an easy walk past interesting shops to get to my meeting. I highly recommend The Study at Yale.

Room Tip: The rooms facing back towards Yale are a bit better view than those facing towards the street

This is a really nice, modern business hotel perfectly located for Yale University. Large, bright, well-appointed rooms, and friendly staff. Best memory: the banana french toast at breakfast.

From the moment you pull up to the valet stand at this sleek glass-and-steel building, you'd think you were at a top-notch boutique hotel in Manhattan. Attentive valet service, friendly and prompt check-in, and a sedate lobby with deep leather chairs and all the newspapers you'd need. Our immaculate room was on the small side, but the space was very well organized with clever built-ins, an elegant but compact bathroom, and a spacious desk overlooking the glistening spires of Pierson and Davenport Colleges. The prices for in-room dining were surprisingly reasonable.
This hotel is the perfect place from which to visit Yale, or for an evening of theater and dining on New Haven's vibrant Chapel St.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side (odd numbers) overlook pretty Yale University buildings, instead of the nois...

Best hotel in Southern CT- airy, spacious with high quality sheets and furnishings. The owner was a vice president for the W hotels, so you can expect that type of quality and feel. Chef at Heirloom worked at Nobu New York- try any of their soups in the mug (majority of their ingredients are locally sourced). Perfect location at the southwestern border of Yale, and the meeting rooms have built in A/V and the same high end touches.

The Study at Yale is a hip, modern boutique hotel. The lobby is charming with the big open bookcase, the fresh coffee in the morning and of course the IMac and printer in the corner!
The best rooms are the ones facing Chapel Street, overlooking the Yale Art School where you can see 'artwork under construction' if in luck.....
The showers are clean, modern and very practical. I love the beds and their Frette sheets. The rooms have a decent seize and the black-out curtains are great. Free and fast wireless. Lots of Yale details throughout the hotel.
Polite staff keeps the rooms very clean, my impression was they were a bit understaffed during breakfast as we had a LONG wait for our order and instead of scrambled eggs made from eggwhite received plain scrambled eggs.
