I stayed here recently for a conference and enjoyed the spacious accommodations. My room (1013) had a handsome, king-sized bed, work area/desk, large storage closet, and a small but adequately sized bathroom with a marble counter and large mirror (see attached photos).

I'd asked for a quiet room, and this was definitely quiet -- at the end of a hall and away from the elevators.

The food at the conference was good but not outstanding. At breakfast, I would have preferred to have cereal, yogurt, cut fruit, some cheese, or other simpler items, not eggs, potatoes, over-sized bagels, etc. At lunch, sandwiches were good but (ironically) not as robust/filling as I might have preferred. Dinner (salmon) with a very fresh salad was satisfying.

All in all, this is a very nice business hotel that's fairly close (less than a 3-minute walk) to the Yale campus. As such, it's a great place to stay for a short visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room -- mine was on the 10th floor (room 1013) and at the end of a hall away from the elevators.

The hotel is over rated. Some staff are very polite and provide great service. Some however are rude and they gave the impression that they were irritated if you requested something. The room is comfortable, but can be noisy when the bars are open (I was on the 16th floor). No swimming pool and the exercise room is small, but the usual for a basic hotel.

During our three day stay, there was a dog next door the entire time that yipped and barked whenever its owner was gone. We were never advised that the 5th floor was a pet friendly floor. When concessions were supposedly made for this inconvenience via a parking fee waiver, the credit card bill revealed we were actually double billed for parking instead.

Thank you for your feedback and please accept our apologies that you were disrupted by a neighbors dogs. We restrict dogs to two specific floors and regret that you were not informed up front that there may be pets nearby. Your credit could have taken up to a few days to appear on your card but if you still haven't seen it, please let us know so that we can make sure it is properly rectified. We are terribly sorry that you didn't have a better experience and hope the future will bring us the opportunity to gain your goodwill towards our hotel.

The rooms looked ok, nothing great. The people were great for the most part. Who ever takes care of cleaning needs to do a better job. I got into my room and took off my shoes and walked around in socks for about 2 mins and noticed that the bottom of my sock were BLACK! The carpet looked clean but was not. They gave me another room and the same thing happened. I have never had that happen even in cheap hotels. The maid stopped by to clean the room and put on a glove that was maybe used to clean toilets to clean the coffee cups, but this is done at all hotels for the most part. While walking by one room that was being redone I saw that the pillows were thrown to the floor and then put back onto the bed. I cleaned the coffee maker before using it and a small clot of mold stuck in the coffee maker in the tray and made some of the water over flow a small bit, but this can happen at any hotel to be fare. But for the cost the carpet should not be that DRITY! But the hotel manager can't do everything and this is the job of who ever does the housekeeping. The lobby is nice and the people working the desk are nice. The manager did try to help but I don't think she understood how bad the floors are because they look and appear to be clean. Too much money for black socks but maybe I caught them at a bad time, don't know. Will try a stay at another time maybe.

We appreciate your feedback and regret to read that you felt like the cleanliness of your room was lacking. All of our housekeepers are required to change gloves between each room. We also shampoo the carpets on a routine basis and vacuum daily. We appreciate that you let us know both while you were on property and through your review so we can make sure it is thoroughly investigated and the appropriate adjustments made if something was missed. We also appreciate that you will consider us for future stays and we hope to exceed all of your expectations during your next visit.

Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay but apologize if you were caught off guard by the parking charges. As with many downtown areas, there is limited parking available and our parking garage is managed by an outside vendor. We do our best to keep these rates competitive and we also go to great lengths to communicate the parking charges prior to the arrival of our guests. If we missed this opportunity with you, we sincerely apologize. Thank you again for writing a review and we hope you will stay with us again soon.
