“Good Productions”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

We look forward to attending the newly renovated theater. Have seen some excellent productions. Every seat is a good seat.

Just love the local and so happy that they didn’t move to downtown New Haven. So easy to get to and find parking.

“Always a quality production”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2012

Longwharf, at its mainstage and it's little theatre, called Stage II, has top notch actors and directors, and the shows are always well done. They do comedy and tragedy, classic theater and innovative theatre, and it is all done well. The theater is convenient to get to, and parking is easy and free. The ticket price is reasonable. This is some of the best theater in the region.

“A few great shows heer”

Never a bad seat in place. Easy to get to. This is a very good little theater with a strong group of actors and a diverse number of shows. Satchmo was wonderful and the actor who played him was incredible. Big thumbs up and recommend

“One of the best regional theatres”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein has a terrific sensibility, and the deep connnections to bring first-class artists to New Haven. As with all theatres, not all shows are winners, but Long Wharf's track record is hard to beat. Judith Ivey was radiant in Tennessee Williams' GLASS MENAGERIE last season, and their current production, SATCHMO AT THE WALDORF, is an illuminating portrait of jazz legend Louis Armstrong. It's a bit out of the way, with only one restaurant nearby - but it's very convenient to Rte 95, has acres of free parking, and is only a 5-minute drive from New Haven's living dining scene. Well worth checking out.

This is your classic black box theatre tucked in the importing district in New Haven it is a bit tricky to find but has some great dramatic plays with big names appearing regularly to hone their craft!
