Wonderful little tea shop and herbal apothcary, Passiflora boasts some of the freshest and delicious organic and locally grown foods available. Many choices are vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. Their soups are a treat - try to get there on a day when the watermelon gazpacho is featured. Desserts are delicous, the tea menu is expansive and the atmosphere is convival and inviting. Friday afternoons feature a mini New-Age Fair, with both a tarot-card reader and massage therapist offering readings and chair massages for a dollar a minute. Sunday afternoons feature local musical groups and the occasional open mic. Search out this little jewel in New Hartford - you will be glad you did!

I ordered the Apricot Chicken Almond Salad wrap and a cup each of Watermelon Cucumber and Kale Bean soups. Absolutely delicious!! I sat in a beautiful, comfy wing chair next to an arched window. I read a good book and people watched.

The music playing is very soothing and I began to feel less stressed.

I sampled a Black Bean brownie AND it was simply the most unusual yummy tasting dessert. So in a big white bag I now have more brownies, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, raspberry scones and a slice of spinach feta quiche to take home to my beau.

Another day I will come back to this quaint little place that relaxes Me and feels like home.

I go to Passiflora for two things, to curl up with a book and a spot of tea, or lunch when I want something healthy, yummy and different. They have a VERY extensive tea menu, but Passiflora is not a pretentious tea house, you could absolutely see folks in carharts next to old ladies dressed up for their weekly outing. They also have a great lunch menu, ALWAYS two homemade soups; both are usually very good and they seem to always have one that is vegetarian. They have a great selection of entrees, I recently really liked their barley risotto, but there are more traditional chicken wraps and quiches if you go with someone less adventurous. Always a choice of three sides, fresh green salad, a small soup or the special "salad" that is seasonal (like roasted root vegetables in the fall). Although I don't get desert there often, they seem to always have something that is vegan or gluten free.

The atmosphere at Passiflora is lively, with bold floral photos on the wall. It is a little tight quarters, the tables are kinda jammed in together, so it can get noisy if it is full. But they do have two tables with arm chairs that are always preferred seating. The owner is very intense :(, but the wait staff is attentive and friendly, and even during a rush, one doesn't get abandoned.

Small and cozy venue. Not fancy or formal, but welcoming and comfortable. A perfect place to share a cup of tea or a smoothie with your female friends or family. Delicious soups, salads, quiches and a changing array of offerings. Most food local and organic. A huge selection of teas that require their own little menu. Lovely staff, both friendly and helpful. Reasonable pricing.
