We had a reservation for lunch after our visit to the Glass House. This small, friendly, and informal restaurant provided us with a wonderful meal.
The spicey shrimp soup was rich and delicious. The grilled shrimp salad,
the taco filled with pork, and the pan seared shrimp with toasted garlic lime sauce were all perfect. The key lime pie was the
best we`ve ever had. Although there is good coffe, ice tea, as well as various other non-alcoholic drinks available(one can byo), lemonade was not on the menu....the waitress kindly went and made some for me. We wish this small gem was in New York City...guess we will just have to travel to
New Canaan again soon!

We requested a booking for 8 people to celebrate my husband's birthday with our family. We live in Sydney, Australia and on this special occasion wanted a great deal......casual dining experience, delicious food and thoughtful waitstaff in an intimate setting. Our family are locals and had not been to Farmers Table so it was a new experience for them. Lucia and her team went out of their way to make this meal memorable and everyone had the best time. We could relax, the food came at the right time and was delicious. When two additional guests arrived later, they were graciously accommodated, which is saying something as the place is small. If we lived in New Canaan, we would be regulars at Farmers Table......but, never mind, we will be back as soon as we come for the next visit. Thank you dear Lucia!

We dined there on a Saturday in early April. This was our second attempt. On the first, although we had a reservation, there was no table available, the wait promised to be long, and there was no where to wait. This time, although we were seated promptly, one hostess was overly brusque with a couple who dropped in hoping for an opening. The food was fine (one diner had halibut, one scallops) but there are better choices on the same street. The ambiance is non-existent. The corkage fee is $10, double that of Nicholas Roberts, a stellar alternative in Norwalk. For us, one and done.

I've probably eaten eveything on the menu and many of the specials. Each dish is full of flavor, freshly prepared and the restaurant uses local farms and purveyors (Owner's Brother for meat and the owner's garden for vegetables in the summer). Whether you order the quesadilla, the tacos or one of the best cheeseburgers around, this place should not be missed. The shrimp mojo is a staple for take-out and I had the scallops the other night which were outstanding. And before you start you can choose from some of the best soups around. My two favorites are the Mushroom soup (creamless yet deliciously creamy), and the seafood chowder. Leave room for desserts. With only 12-14 seats, make sure you call and reserve a table.

A true little gem in New Canaan.

A friend and I enjoyed a delicious lunch. We both had soup. I had butternut squash soup and she had New England clam chowder. Both were served piping hot and were excellent. We both had the chicken quesadilla for our entree. Very nice. It was accompanied by a mixed green salad.

Service was attentive yet not overwhelming.

The only drawback is the limited seating. We got there in the early afternoon, so we did not have to wait long to sit down. But, with only approximately six tables, I can imagine a wait at peak times.

We would definitely go back.
