“Fun, lively atmosphere”
Reviewed August 3, 2013 via mobile

East Side is a place you go for the fun, not necessarily the food. It's a party like place with accordion players playing anything from traditional music to modern hits. The beer on tap is great and everyone loves a good "Ticki tocki ticki tocki oy oy oy." Meals are relatively pricey with the cheapest being $28. This is a great place to go for a celebration.

“Great beers”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

According to my dad the "big beers" are great. The food German. Great atmosphere, you always see people that are happy, or having a good time.

“A little Disappointed”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We recently visited the East Side Restaurant on a Sunday afternoon for my Dads birthday. We had heard about this being such a "fun" place and were really looking forward to going.Unfortunately-that afternoon they had no entertainment since they were playing upstairs for a Private party....we were really looking forward to some authentic music to go with the atmosphere. They were also out of Prime Rib that day so a quest in our party ordered Steak-which he was disappointed in.Stick to the traditional/speciality dishes which were quite good.Very pricey for dinner.

“Very disappointed in this acclaimed ethnic restaurant”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

We went with friends looking for polish food. We ordered traditional food- glomkes, perogis, mixed meat platter, etc. The servers were friendly but the service was very slow, the food was heavy and a disappointment. Our friends sampled each plate but no one really enjoyed the food. This was a destination for us- we traveled about an hour, and it wasn't worth it. The atmosphere was ok, bland

We were staying one night on our way to NYC when we found the East Side on Trip advisor and gave it a try. Excellent food, beer and atmosphere. When many places are chain stereotypes, this is real. Not the cheapest, but one of the best for the price. Portions are large, so we got a full dinner for one and a herring appetizer for the other, which was more than enough.
