We stayed at 3 different hotels on this trip, and I wish I had booked more nights at the Hyatt in Mystic! I loved our room with the comfy couch, and a desk for our son to do his homework. The staff was very nice and they have a lot of helpful information regarding sights and restaurants. The only gripe I have is that the breakfast was billed as "hot and fresh" but consisted of pre-made breakfast sandwiches that looked and tasted very sad. But aside from that we loved it!

We had a little housekeeping snafu when we arrived but it was promptly taken care of and the manager and staff were quite apologetic. We were happy with that but then they compensated us with a free meal too. The staff and manager went out of their way to make us comfortable and they were all very kind and friendly. Patty was such a wealth of local information and we looked forward to talking to her when we returned at night. If you read my past reviews, you'll see I have stayed in five star hotels in this area and while they had many posh amenities, Mystic Hyatt is just as pleasant a place to stay because the employees care if your stay is a good one. That trumps big white fluffy robes and slippers any day in my book. I'll stay here again next year.

Room Tip: Ask to be away from the elevators as rude guests were loud coming back late their rooms at night.

Friendly and attentive front desk. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were super comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower had nice water pressure. Breakfast was nice in the morning. Would definitely stay again.

Very large modern (very contemporary styling) and certainly non-traditional in layout. Room with many amenities. Didn't particularly like the commode/bath room -- it was well into the room and near the window, and very small. One of those where you almost have to step into the tub to shut the door. Sink is outside the bath and part of the room. Had a nice couch and large pivoting TV. Quite, comfortable, and very modern. Can walk to a few restaurants. Breakfast was very good and large selection, but not a lot of places to sit (especially when bus groups come in).

Stayed here for one night as part of a coach tour. The room was very large and modern with a big settee, large screen television and also a kitchen area, and was clean and comfortable (apart from unironed sheets!). Bathroom was small but, again, clean and adequate. We had a meal in the reception area (which serves as a dining area too, strangely) and although the meal was ok we found the waitress/receptionist very surly and off-putting, we never saw her smile or make any attempt to make conversation, certainly wasn't in any way welcoming. Good points are that the breakfast buffet was lovely, lots of choice and constantly replenished by very busy staff, could do with more seating though, saw some people standing up to eat, not ideal. The swimming pool (outdoor) was closed for the winter whilst we were there, which was a great shame as it was warm enough to use it.

Centrally located to the tourist attractions. I can't picture spending more than a couple of nights in Mystic, so there's no need to find a "destination" hotel. We had a room with an adjoining door and the neighbors were loud, else sleeping accommodation was fine.

$2 weekend happy hour beers was a nice touch with a small screen TV to watch a late afternoon game before going out. Pool is outdoors and closed seasonally, so the kids will be disappointed. Breakfast was fine - fresh fruit and assorted other goodies that you would expect on a similar small buffet.

Staff was really keen on recommending local restaurants that mostly score poorly by TripAdvisor readers. We headed into town and ate at the finer restaurants instead.

My husband and I decided to visit Mystic for a quick night get away. The lobby was bizarre looking, you check in literally right next to the bar/coffee bar. The suite was ok for the price, somewhat cave-like. The bathroom was small and congested.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating but I didn't feel the value was worth the price.
