“Fantastic Hotel”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

Stayed here for one night when we had to catch an event at MGM. Amazing hotel. Just a 15 min drive from the Casino-and that's not the best part. Excellent spacious room. Well designed, clean and with all modern amenities (flat screen TV, a coffee maker that worked, a tube of toothpaste on the sink-those little things you know...). Excellent breakfast. Walking distance from the village in Mystic, and less than half a mile from I-95. Very friendly staff-and while the hotel was undergoing reservations, we did not experience any kind of disruption in our stay. Ok gym with a few exercise machines (ok-only 3). Free parking and Wifi. I hear they also run shuttles to the casino on weekends. What more do you need? Highly recommended.

The reviews for this hotel helped me make this my choice. The hotel was a great value!. It has a very good location and the rooms are very large for the price. No complaints at all and we sould stay again when were back in the area. Mystic is a great area to see lots to do and see. Lots of great restaurants and freindly people.

Room Tip: Okay breakfast but I would choose to eat at a restaurant.

We stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend and weren't disappointed. The hotel had a great location , walking a short walk to mystic village for some great shopping and a movie. A mile from the Seaport Museum . Well appointed , done very nicely, both the lobby and breakfast area as well as our room. The staff were exremely helpful , and very very friendly. They made you feel welcome.
A room on the third floor afforded us a beautiful view on the senic area.

Room Tip: try for that third floor , nice panoramic view.

This was our first stay at the Hyatt Mystic and we loved it. We usually visit Mystic 2-3 times a year and always for the weekend after Thanksgiving Day. In the past we have stayed at the Mystic Hilton and the Hampton Inn and other hotels in nearby towns. The Hyatt was phenomenal right from check-in where we were kindly greeted by Andy and Will and made to feel at home. The hotel was very clean and the hot breakfast, which is included in your stay, was fantastic with lots to choose from. The rooms were comfy and nicely decorated. Internet worked fine and HDTV was huge. Bed was comfortable too. And obviously the hotel is very convenient to Downtown Mystic with lots of dining choices close by. The only thing that was missing was no newspapers delivered to your door or at the front desk on weekends. A minor omission in an otherwise great hotel. Definitely stay here, we'll be back again and again.

My wife and I stayed here for three days; everyone was lovely. Rooms well appointed, the internet works, fridge was already cold when we checked in. (A personal peeve of mine - hotels that turn off the fridge between customers!)
Unfortunately, I didn't have the "wonderful smell" Gio M had, and that would be my only quarrel. Every time we entered our room, there was a lingering smell of something unpleasant - not quite garlic, not quite BO, but annoying enough that we bought a scented candle (which I normally don't use) to try and get rid of it.
I agree that a safe with a combo would be helpful, but that's a minor issue compared to very comfortable bed, nice pillows, good ambience and wonderful staff. In particular, a young woman named Briana or Brianna was helpful and cheerful, even under trying circumstances.
They have recently upgraded their breakfast, which was impressive - more like a European than American, but without the cheese and deli meat.
There is also a nice bar in the lobby, which serves food from the kitchen 24/7. That would be the only other small issue we had - they were understaffed in that respect. Our party of four wanted drinks and a meal the first night, but there was only one person on. They went and got the manager on duty, who filled in, but even with two of them the bar/hotel/check in seemed short staffed when several other people began trying to check in. I got the impression the full meal service was something new, though - and I have to say, outside of a very limp brown lettuce leaf in one of our salads, the food was surprisingly good for a small lobby bar.
Within an easy walk is Mystic Village. There's excellent sushi nearby (a small drive or longer walk). The hotel has vouchers for 10% off on several restaurants in the area. There's a laundromat in Mystic Village that gets high ratings; we actually went there to see because of a picture my wife had noticed on Facebook! Was impressed that there were shelves specifically for regular customers' soap, bags etc.
The aquarium in Mystic is well worth the trip - beluga whales, which I'd never expected to see!
I would recommend this hotel and stay there again, for business or pleasure.

First off, when you enter the hotel there is a smell that I cannot describe, and sadly, cannot duplicate. My gf thought it was potpourri, whatever it was, it's amazing. The staff is very helpful and very nice and the room was great. It had a unique layout, that I had never seen at any other hotel, but it was something that I took away as a "quirk" of this hotel. Overall, I was very impressed and I would gladly stay there again.
